Just got my Jeep back from the body shop after a little more than a month of not driving it. It has a fairly significant whistle when driving. I don't know if it has always been there and I'm only noticing it because I got used to driving vehicles with less wind noise, or if something they did is causing it. My Jeep is pretty stock with just a Terraflex leveling kit, Rubi rails added, and an Antenna X stubby added to the exterior. I have no auxiliary lights, brackets, bumpers, or anything else on the outside.
My driver side door has a whistle when going 50mph +. Pretty sure it's the door and not freedom top. Don't recall it doing it new. Only have 8k miles on it. Doesn't leak or get moisture in it though. Annoying but not worth my time on taking it in.
Didn't you replace your front windshield recently? i just had replaced a windshield for my cousins jeep a month ago and it started to whistle going between 40-50 mph. It might whistle at higher speeds but its already loud enough to not hear it from having brick on a highway. I tell my cousin there is nothing radio can't fix. Lol

I replaced mine yeah. But I had the whistle before and after
The whistle is coming from the top farther part of the door. I checked the rubber seal with the door open and it's not glued down. Figured it would still seal. After reading what I said maybe I'll check the other door and see if it's the samr. Duhhh. Ha
Body shop? Did they work on the windshield? That's a strong contender for any whistling. Does it happen all the time or only noticeable at a certain speed? Pick up some 2" wide painters tape (blue stuff) and mask off sections. I'd suggest 2' length starting above the driver, then passenger, then either side followed by the bottom.
I had whistle from my driver side mirror when i had my hard top. Ever since i installed soft top and off road exhaust system i don't have any whistles, i just have "Dolby Surround" system. No one wants to ride with me anymore. Lol
The windshield was replaces during the repairs, and I kind of suspected that it may be the culprit. Let's say I can locate the source of the whistle to a specific area of the windshield...what can be done to fix it?
They should fix it. Sometimes they can run a bead of silicone around the edge, they can probably remove and remount it as well. I've read some owners using some screen door weatherstripping that fits into the gap, you can find this at Home Depot or Lowes. Frankly though the repair shop that did the glass work should be the one repairing it for you.
It's back in the shop today for a couple of paint flaws I found, and I told them about the whistle. Hopefully this is the last time I have to bring it back in, as this makes the third.
My 2015 JKUS started whistling after about 500 miles while driving 38-50 mph. Took it to the dealer. Jeep is replacing the windshield. Back ordered 4-6 weeks but they were real nice about taking care of it.
Finally a thread I might have insight to help someone with!!! My brand new 2015 a Sahara unlimited has a whistle from day one. Went back to dealership after only driving five miles down the road. Whistle was ridiculous! Body shop ordered new door seal, installed a couple days later, no change. Girlfriend actually was able to find where air was coming in around the upper door itself, about halfway up the angled part around the window. Went back to body shop couple days later and guess what the fix was... 3 guys holding the door, two pulling bottom and one pushing on the area where leak was(while door was open). So, I recommend getting a buddy or two and roll the window down, open the door, then bend that mother inward where it should be from factory. Now obviously start out gentle but don't be afraid to put some weight behind it. It's a steel door after all. I really hope this helps you out!
I have a VERY slight whistle going 60mph+ on a 3 day old jku. Idk if its worth taking to the dealer and it doesn't bother me that much.. if at all... It's a Jeep. Doesn't seem to leak on me so that's also good.

Had a whistle and found that my wife had closed her little air conditioning vent and the AC whistled as it came out of it. I now make her ride in the back seat with her hands on her lap.
No whistle, but wind noise seemingly at the top front of the driver door. No leaks and can feel no wind coming in. It only bothers me when I am alone because when my wife is along, she always has her window open, creating her own happy wind noise!!
Same thing here and after almost two years it's starting to bug me. Brought it to the dealer just after purchase and had them look at it, and they said it was normal. Didn't really bother me too much because I always have the radio on. Last week I was updating the Nav sytem, so I had to drive about two hours without radio and the wind noise was loud! Now, no matter how loud the radio is, all I can hear is the stupid wind. Bringing it in next week again.
Mine did. The dealer replaced the windshield under warranty yesterday. Problem solved.
