doing the jeep thing! (a rant)

First thing I learn before I got my jeep, as much as I can remember, is to wave to fellow jeepies. Well at least wrangler jeepies. Since then, not really much of a return of a wave. I've gotten a few, probably 3-5 returns. Only had one that started the wave to me. Makes me happy & it feels like a respectable gesture. Kinda sad when they don't wave.

Most of them look like they don't know. Ether case....RAWR to them...

I have ridden street bikes most of my life, mostly Japanese, and sport bike riders always wave to each other. Harley guys not so much.

I was surprised that Jeep owners also waved. My yellow 2012 is getting some waves. The other day a gorgeous lady gave me a big wave. I thought to myself at the time "this Jeep is really making me happy".

Just keep waving.

I live in a city of 1.1 million and I swear you see a JK every 5 minutes. No body waves it would be too tiring. On my bike however the waves are much more common (and I'm a Harley guy )

Typically I only wave when I have the top off, but I'll wave to Wranglers with or with out the top off and typically I get a wave back from the other Topless folks

from my experiences lately, the wave is not as known as on my motorcycle. every motorcyclist waves but I'd say 1/5 jeep waves back to me. I always wave though...oh well.

Was out today, only one that waved was the guy I parked next to at Costco, the others were oblivious.

That's funny, but not in a ha-ha way.
When riding a motorcycle, I would say that the return is closer to 70%.
But I pledge this, to keep the jeeper brotherhood alive, haha.
Count on my to wave with my door off in my JKU -- once the darn thing is done being built. Still in D1. <sigh>

Cheers,
BobH

Second thought: Train horn after 5 secs. Isn't that like a $300 mod?

I don't get too many waves in Houston, but I did have a first for me. Was at McDonalds one mourning at the drive thru for breakfast. Pulled up to pay, and they said the wave to the woman in front of you, she just payed for for breakfast.

Sadly, HD riders don't consider crotch rocket riders as real bikers.
