Probably not an auspicious beginning to your thread, but...

I went downhill once, and my Jeep was pretty much hauling ass!

YES!!

I want to see an SRT 8 Wrangler!!

Chop top , drop, 20"s, and a sweet 6.4L , and 8 speed!!

Make that Air suspension,, extra set of wheels for offroading.

Done, best of both worlds

Wranglers can actually handle fast corners, but the problem comes in when making corrective maneuvers. Those tend to toss the Wrangler side to side fast enough to cause a flip.

The issue with corners is that most folks drive in too fast and too deep. The key is to have patience and hold your line on entry. And for those who have not mastered it yet, you don't want to bring it up to full throttle until you see the exit cone and know it's time to leave in a hurry.

If you are smooth, you will be surprised at what your Jeep can do!

If you want a all wheel/ 4wd that you can race the Wrangler isn't it. Buy a Subaru STi and hook that up. A friend is pushing something like 600 ft/lbs of torque to the wheels and that thing is nasty......

I agree. I like the idea of a fast rally car, but the jeep is just not the platform to build it on. Solid axle and fast just don't seem to work well together. I mean, I'd rather a jeep than a raptor, but I'd prefer a WRX over either of them.

Course, I'm doing a rally race in the jeep next week, so I'm one to talk. Not that point!

Wow, shame on the safety steward for allowing that. Absolutely not allowed at a sanctioned SCCA solo event.

I seem to remember a old JP mag cover that had a v10 viper moter stuffed in a jeep. if I rememper right the jeep had the front wheels off the ground. I need to look through my mag collection to see if I can find a pic.

I've often thought about the 6.4 Hemi conversion but have always come back to the same answer – why?

I have my JK and love it but know it’s on road limitations. If I want some speed and fast cornering I’ll take out the DBS and likewise I love it but know its off-road limitations i.e. it has no off-road abilityJ

One of the guys I worked with a while back wanted to race his Jeep vs my Vette. Said he may not win at the end, but promised he'd rip me off the line through 1st and 2nd gear. His jeep was pushing over 500 hp. Probably would have resembled this video upload. Hahahaha
