I used to work with a girl who fell out of her boyfriend's YJ while running doorless. Alcoholic beverages and basic stupidity were involved. She was lucky it was at low speed. Scrapes all over her face, arms and legs, which was a shame (talking about the legs; the face was actually almost an improvement)

Determining how he fell out will be a focus of the investigation? It doesn't take Einstein to figure out that head scratcher.

Every single type of vehicle has had an accident and all are caused by human error. My wife has done the same with motorcycles. The fact remains, accidents are just as possible as not having an accident. Granted not having an accident typically requires a considerable amount of attention and defensive driving but permitting distractions (such as cell phones, drugs or alcohol, etc.) is a greater predictor of an accident than any one type of vehicle.

I wouldn't say they all involve human error. Some just happen to fast for our reaction time to apply the brake or to avoid the situation. There are unavoidable accidents and avoidable accidents.

Depends on how you view life.

An existentialist would argue the opposite. Every accident is avoidable, if you think that way.

It's sort of like "elective surgery." I would argue that every surgery is elective.

just for shits and giggles lol but if you are unresponsive and need emergency surgery it's implied consent. I am sorry just having a bad day at work.

I love that movie! But 99% of people don't leave the house wanting to get into a motor vehicle collision.

Since the dawn of time there has been a silent killer stalking all of us. It preys on the young and old, the strong and weak. Like Michael Jackson it does not care if you are black or white. It has no soul, no honor, no fear.

It is the monster we call GRAVITY.

When is the government finally going to get serious about one of the major causes of accidents in our country??? It is time for us to demand something be done to protect children, elderly, drunks, idiots and the accident prone! How many more people have to be seriously injured or die before elected officials finally take this menace seriously? Please, call or email your representatives today...

I wear seat belts all the time. Seen a guy go through a windshield his face looked like ground chuck. A state trooper told me he never clicked a seat belt off a dead body.

"Emergency" or not. It's still elective.

Life and death still has two options.

Yeah, explain to me how I could have avoided hitting the deer that suddenly appeared out of nowhere one evening while on my motorcycle. Barely had time to touch the brakes or attempt to swerve, and WHAM.

Only way to have avoided that one was to just sit home safely on the couch...there are definitely unavoidable and avoidable accidents.

Someone called the emergency services. The victim doesn't teleport magically into the ER.

And no, I have no "duty" to act, neither does anyone else. Last I checked I didn't take any kind of sacred oath to help anyone and everyone that wants it.

If it was up to me, everyone going to the ER would have their bank accounts and credit score checked before anyone did squat.

There is a reason why Natural Selection thins the herd, it's so the weak and stupid DON'T procreate and thus weaken the Blood Line.

Humans should be no exception.

0130 hrs, 27 and "showed signs of alcohol cunsumption" there's a Big surprise.
I guess Sherlock Holmes showed up on that one.
I have been 27 and showed the signs of alcohol consumption on more than one occasion and would put myself in the same category as I mentioned above.
IF I'm dumb enough to get drunk and climb into a naked jeep only to then be ejected onto my hat rack..... so be it - I need to be kicked outta the club too.

Sorry for the people saddened by this dumbass - they don't deserve to have to suffer as for him...... whatever.
