Question Door sill guards

While on one hand it might seem silly that door sill protection wasn't included with our JK Wranglers even though the door sills are painted sheet metal, they're in a high wear area, and it's a Jeep expected to see higher than average levels of both dirt and wear...it can also be argued that one is also free to install black or silver ones, or come up with their own solution or even none as desired.
-a Jeep thing perhaps.
Personally, I'm in QC for a living so it drove me nuts.
These seem to be among the smaller "creature comfort/utility" mods I'm doing since I've settled into a usage pattern with my Jeep.

I asked Santa for the Mopar kit in black, and because of my unerring goodness he was unable to refuse.
(Quadratec's site is down at the moment but I'll post the link to the product page when I can.)
EDIT
Failing that, just copy and paste
MOPAR® Door Sill Kit in Black Plastic with Jeep® Logo For 07-12 Jeep®
or a derivative into a Google search and you'll find retailers with that kit.
END EDIT

Here are a couple of photos I took:

Driver side rear

Has anyone else installed door sill guards? What kind if so?

I installed the Rugged Ridge entry guards in black powder coat because they were metal and not plastic. I figured with all the crap I put my jeep through, the plastic probably wouldn't hold up.

Very nice!
I'll definitely keep these in mind if mine go bad on me.

Can someone who has these take a pic with the door shut?

Reason why I am asking, I have some wear that extends out on the lip of the door. Can't tell by manufacture pics if they would cover or not.

Thanks

Edit: was able to zoom in on the pics.
Answer is nope
Bummer.

Strider I installed the same ones yesterday, they are sharp.

Kjeeper, with door shut you don't see them at all, they barely cover the lip toward the car interior, and don't extend maybe an 1/8 inch on the horizontal side, toward the exterior. So, if you can see it with the door shut, the Mopar ones won't help you.

I think they make black window (Home) pieces, same material that are 90 degree angled, that you can install and cut yourself that would work. I may look into this actually. I know my friend put a really heavy clear sticker around his keyholes, wonder if they would make the same thing for that area.

Dang, they extent/cover the entire rocker area.
Won't work with the stock rock rails

But... Looks like its possible to be done-without the door shut being an issue.

I don't even use the sill. Step over it

I have the Mopar ones in the '07' and that Jeep has been abused. They have held up exceptionally well without any issues, so I put the, in my '12.

Funny this post came about. I have a 99 Sport and am purchasing a 2012 Rubicon. I have those exact sill guards that extend under the door on the TJ and can't for the life of me locate them for a JK. The plastic Mopar ones I have have held up perfectly after all these years and have for sure saved the sill from damage.

Oddly though, the ones from Mopar (...or Highrock-cant recall) for the JKU rear appear to extend a bit further down. Granted these are smaller than the front.

...and Hello to everyone as this is my first post

door sills

I have a wrangler 4dr unlimited.. i purchased the mopar sill covers and like the looks of them, but was disappointed that they didnt extend over the edge.. i am a shorter person and hit my feet constantly on the sill which is causing wear.. i have to get my brother to constantly touch up the paint. If anyone knows of door sills that extend, or even rocker guards that extend up higher, please let me know.

Thanks

I like how they match the side steps perfectly! Those were the very first "mod" I did on my Jeep. I picked up the pair from eBay for a little over $20 directly from a dealer. The door sills, just looked "naked" to me and prone to damage leading to rust, so I knew I would have to have these. Not to mention the additional protection they'll provide.
