Door storage

Is it a bad idea to score the doors upside down when going doorless? I know that would make them top heavy, but you could fabricate a vertical portion on a rack like this one https://www.extremeterrain.com/lange-door-hangers-yj-tj-jk-008199.html?utm_content=XT%20Exterior%20-%20Doors%7CLange&utm_campaign=JK%20-%20No%20Years&utm_source=google-pla&utm_medium=shopping&T5_Var3=yellow&T5_Var4=J20532&utm_term=%7Bkeyword%7D&XTID=J20532 or use a wall mounted strap or bungee to hold them to the wall. This way there wouldn't be as much stress on the top of the door frame. Thoughts?

I wouldn't hang them from the top frame, that can mess up your seals. I bought the Ace door hangers, used a 2x4 and lag bolts to mount them to studs and they are super solid. Had my doors on them for well over a month, zero sag. Easy on, easy off.

Using the 2x4 will allow the doors to sit flush with your garage wall.

That's more of a long term storage thing I would think unless you bring that mounting location down a bit. The doors are heavy enough to lift off the hinges let alone having to lift them almost above your head.

For me in my area, doorless is usually a day or two day long thing before we get rain so it's a lot of on/off of them, thus I really only need temporary storage for them.

I took my doors off for the first time yesterday. (JK 2dr)

I had some bicycle J hooks that were screwed into the ceiling beams in my garage. They fit and held them fine. But for some reason it was bothering me and I didn't want that as a long term solution. I took the doors down and put them upright on carpet leaning against a couch in my basement. Not the best solution but I know they won't fall or get damaged in the garage where space its tight. Since I have no kids at home the basement is seldom used anyway.
