Doorless light switch

I have a 2009 Jeep wrangler unlimited and am wanting to install a switch so that when I take my doors off I can just hit the switch and have the lights stay off. I usually will pull the fuse but am getting tired of going through all that.

I saw that quadratic has a TJ dome light switch. It says that it is for jeeps up to 06. Besides the issue of the length is there anything that might stop me from putting it on my 09? It looks like it should work.

Has anyone done anything simular to this? If so what did you use/ how did you do it?

Thanks

I just walked outside and tried it, it turned of the dome light in mine. I just turned the dimmer the whole way toward me with the door open. :thumb:

What the heck are you guys talking about? The only way the dome light will come on with the JK door wiring harness disconnected is if you rotate the stalk to the "on" position. There is no need for a switch or pulling a fuse.

This x2. The fuse/switch method was for TJ's, on the JK, you just unplug the door harness when removing the doors and the lights will go out.

ok so i just checked and it didnt work. The rear dome light never turned off even with the switch turned all the way to the off positions. Do yall have 4 doors or 2 doors? mine is a 4 door and with the fuse in and the harness unplugged it will stay on.

any ideas as to what i may be doing wrong or do i need a switch?

Did you also unplug the rear doors? :whistling:
This

Usually when ppl take doors off they take all of them off. If you unplug the rears it will think they have been taken off which is what you want. Then all your lights will turn off
