Doors off for the first time

I took the front tops and front doors off my new JK today and took a run around the neighborhood. Have the street and the world been right out there like that this whole time? So this is what you freaks have been on about! My leg most definitely did not remain safely inside the ride at all times. I've had a lot of vehicles in my years, but this is a whole new thing.

So ...
  • The front tops have been off since I got it on Wednesday (default configuration)
  • The entire top was off for one ~50mi round trip a couple days ago (liked it OK, but definitely need a hoist)
  • The rear glass was open for a short trip to the store with the dog (she seemed to liked it)
  • Now the front tops and front doors have been off
Sometime soon I'm going to have to "take it all off."

Can't wait to get some time to strip my new JKU Rubicon down as well. How was the ride with just the front tops off?

There's certainly more wind and noise, especially on the freeway, but not much more than a large sunroof. It's the config I like most, or at least I find it to be the "safest." If things get too windy or chilly, or if the rain starts, the tops are in the back
