Doors won't budge on 2008 Wrangler Sahara

I bought this Jeep a few months ago, and I'm trying to take the doors off for the first time. Has 49,000 miles on it, and I don't know if the previous owner ever removed them. I took out the bolt at the bottom of the hinge, but the door won't budge. Any ideas to get it removed, or I'm I doing it wrong?

One of the best ways to remove stubborn doors would be to spray the hinge posts down with PB Blaster. Let sit for an hour or so, then try again.

If it still cant come off then try to lift the doors using a jack and a long block of wood up to the door. Make sure to put a towel on the wood block!

Make sure to work them back and forth as you lift upward.

make sure the door is opened

all joking aside, it helps if the door is 3\4 way opened , with the window down stand on the outside of the door , reach in with your right hand and pull up on the arm rest while using your left arm and hand on the bottom sill of the door

Once they're off I always spray them with a little WD-40 equivalent before putting them and the two nuts on each door back on, next time when you remove them it slides like butter

Kicking your tire and tossing out a few general curse words usually helps

My Jeep doesnt like to let go of the passenger door everytime I go to take them off so I always have a can of wd40 in hand give it a lil spray, open and close the door and it slides right out. Just make sure your door is fully open if your going to pull real hard because when it does let go you'll knock off quite a bit of paint.. i already did that... wd40 works good tho! I was kinda worried about getting it on my paint tho anyone know about that??

I have an 08 Sahara as well and my doors gave me trouble the first time too. I finally took a long 2x4 and wedged it under the door to give me leverage to lift. My neighbor helpded because when it finally broke loose it popped up pretty good. I put some grease on the hinges before I put them back and every time since then I've not had trouble just lifting them out of place on my own.

^^^ I did the same thing.. It just about took the jaws of life to get my back doors off. When they did give I hit the bottom hinge with the top hinge... Luckily only a very small chip....

Just tried to take-em off again and no F'n luck.. They just will not budge..
Is PB Blaster. or WD-40 safe on paint.. should I just spray the crap out of it.
I just ordered some New door pin sleeves, once I do get them off, I am putting the new ones in

I took my doors of today, just bought my 07 and don't think the doors were ever takin off.
The trick is to get them in the right position and pull up as close to the hinge as possible. I fought and fought, both sides, when I found that magic location-they popped right off. I had some PB blaster (under the tire) ready but never used it

+1

I had success with the 2x4 method as well. Simple machine principal -- the longer the 2x4 is that you use, the more leverage you can create. Also good advice to have someone standing by for when that baby finally gives way!

good lord...another door thread?? Instead of my usual sacastic comments about your Jeep being a hater because NO ONE ever took the doors off..I am going to offer something I dont think anyone has seen before on this topic. I was at a fastener store earlier and saw a penetrant that comes out cold..Freeze and Release by Loctite..this may have some merit for all you stuck door whiners...the freezing action constricts the metal...combined with the penetrant...this may be your answer...someone try it and report back....maybe this will be the last stuck door thread.....although I SERIOUSLY doubt it!!!

Great advice!

The 2x4 did the trick for me! I take them off regularly now.

No problems at all, but I still need the 2x4 handy.

Thanks for all the great advice!
