I have the same kenwood in my 13 sahara. It takes a little longer to boot up than I had hoped for, and wish it had some hdd space for more than a few pictures and a few songs, but overall I really like it. instruction book that is online sucks (assume its the same as what comes with the unit but I didnt get that one), but once you get a hang of the interface, its very easy to use.

Add on module that really isn't worth it... Why spend more on the module when you have the same function on ur phone? The other run around they give you is u have to buy 2 parts for serius or 1 part for XM to allow for the sat radio.

Yup, Pioneer 8400 in mine too (third one as I've had two stolen, bad neighborhood but moving in a month) and I love it. Swapped out factory speakers and sub to some JLs and an alpine power pack and a mono block amp for the sub and it sounds great even on the highway with the op down. Great deck.

When I first had it installed and before I painted the trim.

Anybody using PAC interface so you keep your steering wheel controls? The Kenwood looks great but Im suspect on the PAC boxes; do they work reliably?

Went with a BOSS 870DBI, sounds great and has all the features I was looking for. I had to use the PAC unit to turn on the factory Amp and to shut the radio off when the door opens.

When I had mine first put in I lost my stearin wheel controls. I had them put in a part that allowed me toget them back I'm pritty sure that's what it was. Only problem I have is I live where it's -40Celcius and when the vehicle is still cold it takes awhile for the controls to work. Other then that Iv had no problems.

I put a clarion nx-602 in with built in navi, in my 2007. It's good so far. I feel like I spent too much having put in along will all new speakers and a sub. But it sounds amazing now.
