Dragon Special Edition,....."we said that we'd do a 1000 or so for the US market",.....words directly from Jeep President and CEO, Mike Manley.

Not sure how to add the link, however here is the title of the UTube video (to Pat and David M, thanks for the info from the 10A thread):

SUV of the Year - 2013 Jeep Wrangler @ Chicago Auto Show - YouTube

What do you think?

Seems they do a "special limited edition" every year for some reason or other.

Here I ordered the 10A Rubi thinking it was the limited edition this year. Curious when they will release it since the dragon edition was at the 2013 show and has LED lighting. Hope it is a Sahara model!

Too much bling. If I want JW Speaker 8700 Evos, then I'll just buy them. That said, I hope the people that buy those models will be very happy.

BTW: if memory serves me, didn't the Dragon debut during the Chinese motor show? I think so.

It's cool but not my cup of tea.
The interior looks like a product of Pimp My Ride

Yes, it did. To celebrate the Chinese Year of the Dragon, I believe, which was 2012.

I think that's true for about any Wrangler. You can start with the base Sport and put together about anything with time and money. The special editions are designed to appeal to a particular niche buyer, which they do.

Jeep does numerous special editions each year. For 2012 there were at least 3: Arctic, Call of Duty, and Altitude.

So, rest assured, the 10A will not be THE special edition for 2013.

This is not interesting to me at all. I can't imagine there is that big of a market for what this thing is going to cost. These types of things I feel are best done one off and for show purposes only. Sort of an exercise in design to show customers what might be possible on their own with a little cosmetic modification. This thing could not be profitable for Jeep.

This looks like yet another gimmicky special edition to appeal to people who don't want to mod their own Jeep. At least the Moab and 10A have some useful features...but I still prefer to order and mod my own vehicle rather than buy someone else's idea of what my package should be. The only thing I've seen on any of the special or limited editions so far that I would like to have on my JK is the enhanced EVIC. The rest of it is mostly fluff that would end up being replaced by better aftermarket parts anyway.

Saw it in Detroit and Chicago. It's pretty terrible. That stuff belongs on a toyota supra not a wrangler. No offense to supra owners lol.

I beg to differ. 2nd Gen T/As had class and style. This Jeep just screams d-bag hipster. Of course, opinions vary, but that's mine.
