Dumb question

I am looking into some new rims and tires but do not know what do with the old ones? I need advice on how to sell them or what you all did? Will my dealer buy them they bought my soft top if this tells you anything.

You can sell them on Craig's List or most tire stores will take them in on trade if they are still good condition. I doubt the dealer will buy them.

A dealer likely won't buy them. Put them on Craigslist (easiest), and the forums- I've sold a ton of stuff this way- Mark W.

They might, but selling used tires is a WHOLE lot different from selling a used soft top. Liability concerns are HUGE on that one- Mark W.

I sold all my stuff on the Ca. San Francisco Bay Area CRAIGS LIST, it's free and you get LOTS of buyers, so use your local area !

I sold 5 BFG 255/75x17 (tires) for $300 bucks (Craigs list), with 5000 miles

Can'tbeatit

Go to the top of the list and type either tires/size or wheels/size/description in the search block and "click", don't put jeep in the description, if your just looking for tires

Experiment with that block and it'll save you a lot of "looking"

Good luck

Yeah, dealers have to put new tires on if they change anything. Liability sucks... IMO you can sell 'em on the market "as/is" and you're covered on liability. As well, your not putting them on a vehicle to be liable for once it goes down the road like they would be.

If they have 20k for miles, I'd try to go for 50-60% of retail and walk away pleased to make some money back on 'em.

(ps... I am not liable for saying your not liable if you sell to someone unreliable and they try to make you liable for they're unreliability.)

I think there's something in the water..

This past weekend the wife and I stopped at a local yard sale..

perusing the tables I spotted a Revere Ware pot/lid still in it's retail box. It had a sticker from Montgomery Ward on it with a price of 39.99

looking the box over for the obligatory torn paper tape with a price sticker, the seller came over and I asked.. how much..

She said $35..

'Really' I replied as I put it back on the table.

She said.. "do you think thats too much? How much do you think I should ask"?

I replied ' I think it's extra stuff kicking around your garage and you should be asking as much as it can to get it out of your hair'

She then told me it was no longer being made.. so I replied that it would be impossible to get replacement parts for it if it ever broke down and exited the yard...
