Dune grappler or trail grappler mt????

I will be doing mostly trails and beach and 98% road. They both look sweet IMO.

Between those two, the Trails for sure. But those are some heavy ass tires and are prone to becoming quite loud.

I went with the Terra Grappler myself after looking since I too will be mostly on the road and some beech. (I think normal some of the roads around here may classify as trails ). There are a few Dune Grapplers in the parking lot where I work and they do look nice.

Please don't get the Dune Grapplers. They look dumb IMO and look like they'd suck in any wet pavement or snow. Kind of like the General Grabber's.

Not a fan of the Dune Grappler look. Its kinda cheesy to me. I went with the Trail and happy so far. No louder then the stock MT's. The loud tires are the Mud Grapplers, and i would stay away from them. Get the Trail Grapplers. But as noted they are heavy!!

Trail Grapplers aren't loud

I like my Trail Grapplers, good tires but they very heavy. I'd rather have DuraTracs though

Not a fan of the Dune Grappler either.

But the Grabbers ( red letter ) do fine in the rain and snow.

4fit nailed it. Grapplers are stupid heavy. Almost as bad as Falken Wild Peak ATs.

I too have the Nitto Trail Grapplers (33" x 16" steel wheels). As everyone said - very heavy. Not loud in any way shape or form to me.

The impact on power is VERY noticeable to me.

Balancing is a PITA, in my experience. Tried twice with wheel weights. Currently using Dyna Beads (have had great experience with these on motorcycles) but they are hit and miss on these. Sometimes the ride is smooth as silk. Sometimes its a train wreck. I suspect moisture or stickiness inside of the tires causing occasional "clumping".

I have read many, many threads on this and other forums - and have to say the Duratracs are THE way to go for most of us. Great performance, lighter weight, and over $100 per tire cheaper than the Trail Grapplers. They also have a fairly aggressive look to them. I'm considering selling or swapping my Trail Grapplers for DT's - because I do a ton of highway driving and not nearly as much off roading as I'd like (yet).
