Duratracs Online

Looking to order 315/70/17 Goodyear Duratracs. For anyone who ordered lately where did you find them? I check a few sites, but they were out of stock.

Check discounttiresdirect.com or tirerack.com. They may be back ordered nation wide right now, it's a very popular tire.

I got my 285/70/17 Duratracs from DTD. At that time they also had the 315s for the same price ($268). I kinda wish I'd gotten the 315s and a small lift, but my wife it happy with it as is.

Ok, I am trying to crack the code....can you figure out tire size (ie...33s, 35s...etc..,) from the three tire numbers?

I ordered 2 or 3 weeks ago from tire rack and they were in stock. (31s) I was able to do a local pickup at one of their warehouses.

I remember hearing someone say something about how Duratracs are less heavy than the BFG MT's and therefore have less rolling resistance....Any truth to that?

If you get a price from discount tire online..... take it to your local discount tire and they will match it. If they have to order the tires... just wait for them.... you'll get a killer deal. Plus, if you join Tread Lightly, you get $100 rebate from Goodyear. Plus, tell them you are a member here (join) and they'll take another 50 off.

Dats wut i did....

33x12.5R15 Good year Duratracs on MB72 alloy wheels = 49pds per tire and about 17pds per wheel vs 255/75/17 BFG MT = 48pds per tire and about 21pds per wheel. There is more rolling resistance in the duratracs because they are wider and have a greater mass contact patch but the weight difference off sets it. Not by much in this comparison but worth noting because the stock rubi wheels and tires on 17" wheels are smaller than the larger 33" duratracs on 15" wheels.

Oh - will local discount tire dealers give you the $50 discount?
That'd be great!

Don't forget that you may have to pay tax at a local store. Mine were the same price online as I could get them at my "local" store 130 miles away. The difference was that I would have had about $120 in tax and fees to buy them locally. Buying from DTD saved me that expense.

Mine did..... they also matched the online price (that I had negotiated down) that did not include sales tax and had free shipping... go figure... don't know how they did it. (Yes, they did charge me sales tax, but took it off elsewhere).

In today's economic situation.... I simply have to negotiate and ask. Of course I want/expect the dealers to make money... but I also want the best price I can wrangle.

I ended up buying a set of Duratracs at the local Goodyear retailer. Their price was very close to the Internet discounters with no hassles. Also got the TL $100 rebate.

For me I'd rather have a local shop sell the tires, do the installation, and be there for customer services. Everybody makes their own tradeoffs.

I ordered a set of (5) 315/70/17s from Tire Rack in early August and they were backordered. As of last week they couldn't give me an estimated availability date so I cancelled the order and went with my local tire shop who matched their price. Tires have only been on for a few days but love the way they ride.

Aren't 315/70/17's load range E? I was looking at those until I saw that. Those that have these, how's the ride? What shocks are you running that make that stiff of a tire ride well?
