Dynamat

Has anyone had any experience using Dynamat on a 2009 Wrangler? I have a rag top and was wondering if using the stuff would be a rust magnet? I was hoping to cut down on the road noise at least.

The rag top is OEM and the noise from the road gets a little crazy, even though the top is supposed to be a "Sail Cloth" top....how can a dealer tell? The vin number?

Sail cloth has a pattern to it, kind of raised places like slubs... not completely smooth. I'm pretty sure all stock soft tops are sail cloth on '09's, but I could be wrong. I'm guessing you are wanting the Dynamat for the floor boards? Never heard of anyone doing that, and yes, I'd think it would trap and hold a lot of water under it, if the Jeep gets caught in a shower, etc. If you do decide to try it, I'd use FatMat instead, it's better and less expensive according to several folks I've talked to who have used both.
Is this your first convertible? None are especially quiet, in my experience. I have a sailcloth top on my TJ, and there is definitely wind/noise, but I don't even really notice it, it's just another joy of driving my Jeep, for me

Oh, where are my manners? Welcome to the forum, don't forget to wave

Ragtops will make noise no matter what. I think the JK is surprisingly quiet with the stock top. That spray on truck bed liner/ undercoating stuff can be put to the floors to deaden the sound and its really a good thing to have when your Jeep gets rained on.

The Dynamat

The Fat mat was a great idea, thanks.

I agree the soft top is just going to be noisey, although I am getting used to it. It also keeps my speed down and avoids meeting the men in blue with lasers and radar guns!

I added wavey as per your request!

So did you put in the FatMat?

And I meant wave to the Jeepers you pass on the road, but I like wavey icons too! Thanks

I used fat mat extreme on my DD. Time consuming install. But it was worth it.
