....with some slight modification.

I'm posting this thread to help others down the road as I had issues getting straight answers when looking to purchase this kit.

The kit is listed on different sites under different name but the part number is 39522. Some sites will list that it only works on a 4-door, while other sites don't specify at all. The Dynomax site claims it's only for a 4-door, but a Dynomax rep on here claimed it would fit simply by cutting 2.5" off the straight pipe but that proved to be incorrect during install. Also among 2-door owners I got answers from "it'll fit no prob" to "it'll fit with some modding" to "it won't fit period".

I got tired of the runaround so figured I'd just buy the damn thing and find out for myself and post here to help others considering putting this kit on their 2-door.

The pipe that come off the y-pipe does need to be cut down. I don't know the exact amount but ended up with the muffler going as far as it can before it hits the bend in the pipe. The hanger on this pipe does line up with the factory hanger location. The pipe is attached using the supplied clamp.

To attach the muffler to the pipe, the installer decided to weld rather than use the supplied clamp. The reason being that when he used the clamp, it pulled the muffler up and it made contact with underbelly of the Jeep. Also, as the muffler was so close to the bend in the pipe, the pipe was become oval shaped so a clamp wouldn't give a good seal. So instead he welded the muffler on and used some weight to pull it down some to ensure clearance above the muffler.

For the exhaust tip, more cutting was needed and the hanger wouldn't line up w/ the supplied frame hanger if you tried to attach it to the rear of the evap skid. Instead, he cut the hanger off the tip and welded in a new one that attached to the existing hanger that is just forward of the rear axle. This also ensured that the muffler could never move upwards and contact the vehicle.

It's all welded up as a single unit for easy removal if needed. I also had him not cut the existing components so that I could reuse them or sell them if I decide to later.

Here are some pics after the install. I'm very happy with it. Hope this post helps others that are considering this mod.
