Talking Eco / eco-on.

ECO / ECO-ON (Fuel Saver Indicator) — If Equipped
The ECO-ON indicator will illuminate when you are
driving in a fuel efficient manner and can be used to
modify driving habits in order to increase fuel economy.

With the 5.38 gears in I seem to be in the ECO-On alot
I just seen this and was wondering what it did now I know.

I think Chrysler was pushing it to make this something that would be useful on a Wrangler. Come on, the best I can get out of my Rubi is 21.5 Hwy. Gas mileage is NOT why we buy these. Why would anyone bother turning this "on".

Yea, I was wondering what that was the other day. I guess if I have my wife and kids push the jeep, the "On" indicator would be on all the time.

It is not something that you turn "on" or "off". When it lights up as "on" it just means that you are driving in an economical manner. The purpose is to "teach" you to drive in that manner.

I have been using it. Now with 260 miles on da Jeep Im about 17mpg. Little highway, most in town. Not bad for a non broke in motor.

But its really Slowwwwwwwwwwwwww. I just look at it as getting from point A to point B.

Jeep is so cool, I dont mind at all.

I'm not sure when it's on or off but I pull 19.5mpg avg consistently with 35s and stock 4.10s. That's an improved gas mileage over my TJ of 30%, as that got 15 avg on a really good week. Both stick. Eco on or off...this thing is an improvement.

seems like the only time it ever shows that I'm running eco-on is when my foot is completely off the gas..

Me too, I can drive it like a granny and it still only comes on when I'm not touching the gas...

I have 4000 miles on mine, and like others said, the only time that light comes on is if I shift into neutral and coast :-)

On the plus side I am averaging about 17.5 mpg with mostly around town driving.
MUCH better than my 4.0 YJ ever did.

I just bought my wrangler two weeks ago and the eco light has never came on once. Me and my wife took a trip to cincy to go to Bass Pro and Jungle Jims and my wrangler got 17.9 mpg on the highway. Since then it went down to 15 for the city driving I have done back and forth to work.

Mine has about 375 miles on it now, and I've never seen the Eco light. I drive all in town, back and forth 2 miles to work, with a couple of highway trips so far, and I've gotten 12.88 and 13.69. Taking a trip to FL in another couple of weeks so we'll see how it does then.
