Electronic throttle control

Anyone know what's up with the flashing light? Only 3,000 miles

A little more information might be helpful. Maybe a description of what lead up to the light coming on. Were you driving in torrential rain? In mud on the trail? Did you bury the front end in water? Which light was it? How is the jeep running now that the light is on?

Not so lucky, I was on a highway trip on Friday and the first sign was the cruise control would not come on. No lights came on at that point. On Sat. All seemed to be good again. On the way back home we did get in some rain, but not terrible amounts. Driving down the interstate, ETC light comes on, felt loss of power for a bit but driving ok. I pulled off the road, turned key off and no light for about 30 minutes, then same thing happened. Had to struggle with it but made it home oK. Today it is doing it much more frequently.

Try honking the horn a few times. If the computer is confused, honking the horn will reset it and all will be well with the world. If that doesn't work, I would visit the dealer. Horn honking doesn't take any time to try and may save you a visit. Let us know if it works as this has worked for quite a few gremlins so far and folks on the forum are always amazed to hear that it actually works. I have seen several posts now that report good results.

This is interesting to me, since I just had the same thing happen to my 2011 Wrangler yesterday (7000 miles). No previous problems.. Not raining and not off-road or driving through puddles, streams, or rivers at the time. And lucky me, In addition to the ETC light coming on and flashing.. I also had the Electronic Stabilizer Light come on at the same time, so I experienced both a rough engine and some slight braking issues. I'm currently scheduled to bring it to the dealer on Thursday.
