Today when I was taking a ramp to the freeway the ESC suddenly kicks in. I felt vibration on the driver's floor, engine power was cut, ESC light on on dash and it also came with a whining/grinding noise. The road is perfectly dry. The Jeep is in a normal driving condition since I bought it. Never had this came on before. Any thoughts? Is it just ESC or is it something else?

See/hear my dashcam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bnzU0gk-nI starts at 0:04 to 0:08. After 0:08 everything went back to normal.

Could be a wheel speed sensor. Had a buddy have the same problem. On our jeep when the sensor went out, the computer wouldn't let the transmission shift from 1st to 2nd. If you have a code reader throw it on your jeep or stop by an autozone or etc...
I didn't change out the sensor as it happened when I was out of town and my wife limped the car to the dealership. I hear they aren't to difficult to change and cost around $25
