Question Evaporative cannister do i need it?

A couple weeks ago I hit a branch on the highway and it hit the underside of jeep pretty hard. On inspection I could not find any damage. Today I'm driving along and it sounded like something dragging under jeep. Upon inspection its the evaporative cannister is hanging it has a hole in the front side where the branch I guess hit it. I have been driving a couple weeks with no noticable difference is it ok to drive like this or should I replace or remove it?

Replace and add a skid plate. Or just relocate. Several relocating kits are available.

Replace it. It is a part of your emissions.
