i am thinking about doing a trip to PA to the Rausch creek off road park an taking a 101 class with the adventures company.

has anyone been here and what do you think about it?

is there anywhere in the tri-state area you recommend instead?

Great place. I've wheeled there but never taken the class. I have heard good things about it though.

Gearing up to go there myself!

I hear it's awesome... Plenty of videos on YouTube to give you an idea of the place.

I have taken both the 101 and 201 course there. Kyle is a pro and will teach you what a jeep can do. We did things that I NEVER thought a stock sport could do (however the Ford Raptor with us broke an axle in the 101 course, however Kyle even jury rigged that and got it out of a pickle)

Highly recommend it. It is a great place to wheel.

There are a few clubs that go up from MD almost every weekend. The park is pretty big.

My family and I were just there this past weekend for 101. Kyle is excellent instructor. This is a great way to learn about the capabilities of your rig and also about the park itself. Yea it a class but you are behind the wheel all day hitting some pretty impressive terrain. There was one obstacle I could not get through with stock 97 wrangler 2.5 5 speed. Kyle guided me through several approaches. I had to back off. Sometimes it's better to back off versus damaging your vehicle. We were 110% satisfied and I'm still excited and so happy we did it. I am now a member and hoping to do guided tour soon.

I went up last weekend for the first time and ran greens and blues and had a great time. Going up next month for the 101 class. Really, it's a nice place. Big, too.

Yup what this guy said. Kyle is a great guy. I did a review of it quiet a few years back and on a different site before I worked at Teraflex. If oyu are new to the sport the class will be great for you.

Took my son there for his 16th birthday let him do the 101 course. It was great. The park was a blast, after the class was over we went and did several blue and green runs. Kyle was outstanding, like mentioned above, a Jeep Commander broke his CV joint on the trail Kyle fixed him up and he was able to drive it home. If I wasn't 4.5hrs away Id go everyday.

Nope, Element Offroad Jeep club is doing one on the 26th... Going then.

If you're on Facebook, search for them for info.

Agree with everything said above about Kyle.

I cut the 5+ hours of our 101 class down to a 15 minute video. This should give you an idea of what to expect. Note the video doesn't do justice to the elevation changes.

Myself, my boyfriend and our five year old son made a 7 hour trip to Rausch Creek this past August. We did the 101 and 201 courses, each in our own Jeeps (I don't like to share lol). It was worth the drive and gas money, we had a blast, we learned a lot and our son loved every minute of it. Kyle really is great, he has a very laid back demeanour that just makes you feel comfortable and confident even when you make a bad decision like I did and got myself hung up on a rock, he still managed to make it seem okay. It also helps that the park is beautiful with some really nice views. I also made a couple highlight videos from both days.

I'm heading to Rausch tomorrow. Looks like it will be a great time if these videos are what I have to look forward to.

You're probably best to just email Kyle directly to get prices. You have to become a member, plus pay for the course, I think there was another fee also but I can't remember for what. All these fees really are worth it though especially if you are new (like me) you'll do things that you wouldn't have tried on your own and you'll do things you didn't think you or your Jeep were capable off.

Had a great time. I'm new to this obsession and did the once a month guided tour for stock and slightly modified rigs. 70 bucks for driver and 15 per passenger, but that includes your membership. Next trip would cost you 50 driver and 7 per passenger.
I have a stock 14 jk and had no problems with the green trails. This experience has got me looking to lift and get bigger shoes.

With respect to the last post, you should do the guided tour first. With that initial fee you get a membership and you can enjoy the trails with at least one other truck at the cheaper cost. You may just gain from on the trail experience and asking questions, seemed like everyone is more then helpful.

Just got back from Rausch Creek. Had a great time! The Jeep made it through mostly unscathed. The side running boards got a little bent up, but I'm replacing those with rock rails anyhow.

My setup: 2013 JKS with rear LSD and 32" Goodyear DuraTrac tire.

I gotta say, the tires did a great job!

Here are some of the better videos.

Going to down a very steep and slippery mountain. The spotter was wanting to slow down but I was literally standing on the brake with both feet and it there was nothing I could do to slow down. Gravity will win every time. I let the engine do all the braking for most of the way and mixed with some controlled braking.

In this video, I'm going on the infamous Trail 11. Jeep has a badge of honor app and you can earn a badge for this trail. The BLD did it's just while my wheels were in the air.

Went down trail 11 for the 2nd time this weekend... It's a pretty fun ride, had a few friends freaked out when I was on 2 wheels for part of it, but it's all good times...

Did trail 11 again this past weekend but this time I had the sway bar disconnected. What a huge difference for the better.

Need to invest in some quick discos.

I'm fortunate to live only about 35 minutes away. It's a great place. Been there twice now and still haven't even covered half of the trails!
