Does the ave mpg on the EVIC reset on occasion automatically? Mine will be 19mpg one day and 16 the next. I would expect it to be pegged in if not reset.

By the numbers you got, sounds like you did a lot of freeway driving one day and a lot of city driving the next.

I believe the average MPG is cumulative until you reset it.

I believe the OP is surprised that his MPG would drop so much if it is, in fact, an "average".

He must have missed the memo that 13 MPG is not unheard of for a Wrangler, which would pull down his average from 19 to 16.

Like Jku said, it's an average depending on you're driving.. Simple, if you do 30 mph for 10 miles, it drops, do 65 mph for a steady 100 miles it increases. The electronic indicators are no different than since gas engines were developed. Heavy foot, less MPG, nice and steady, better MPG. Problem now, is you can SEE all the indicators, MPG per gallon, Oil temps., Trans temps. And, the best is wait till you hit the 4 wheel drive season, then you'll see some real nice "decrease" in the MPG, but you'll have some piece of mind.... You got a Wrangler, Got to Love it!

I reset mine every tank and verify it using Fuelly. It's usually within a 1.5mpg window above or below.
