EVIC Install?

After receiving my 2011 JKU Sahara I discovered that I did not have the EVIC (Electronic Vehicle Information Center). After a long conversation with my dealer, who assisted me in the special order of my JKU (I did not buy it off the lot), he advised me that he didn't realize that the UConnect feature was something that had to be ordered seperately when you order the RHB430N with NAV.

After alot of bullshit arguing they are installing the module next week to activate the Blue Tooth/Voice Command buttons on the radio. However, the Factory UConnect option would have given me the steering wheel controls with the EVIC. So my question is, can that be installed in my steering wheel or is there another way to at least get the EVIC active?

I'm tired of asking my dealer questions for he clearly is clueless.

I think you can give the jeep back to them if you haven't had it too long...New Car Grace Periods...if - Wikiautos you do, go to a different dealer and order EXACTLY what you want.

I've been bitching about this for awhile, I don't know why the dealers are so clueless as to what they are selling. (well, SOME dealers seem to know, but the majority I talked to thought that UConnect came standard with the 430N..). There is no way to install EVIC after the fact, that being said, the dealer can program any of the EVIC options you want changed anyways, and once they are set you will hardly change them anyways, so just get the dealer to set any EVIC options you want changed with there Scan tool.

Thanks Flyin', your answer was what I didn't want to hear, but expected. As I said to the dealer, it seems minor, but it will force me not to send them business. I do not need any significant changes to the EVIC but it would be nice to have the options that let you know if certain bulbs were out or what the exact tire pressure for each tire is on the fly.
All the other factory settings, lights on for certain times, number of horn sounds, etc... are fine.

Swingtail, I have possessed it for 3 weeks today and put 380 miles on it. Do you think returning it can still be a viable option without hassle?
I can honestly say that I only noticed the lack of the EVIC yesterday.

EVIC won't show that informtion on a Wrangler anyways, the tire pressure monitor isn't part of Evic it just tells you when pressure is low.
