Exhaust Question

Any thoughts on the Gibson Metal Mulisha exhaust? I saw it on Quadratec and thought the all black would be a nice touch. I'm very unfamiliar with exhaust so looking for feedback. I have a '14 Sport. Is it worth buying? Also, wouldn't mind a throaty sound but dont want anything obnoxious....thanks in advance.

To me, it looks like the dual outlet Gibsons hang down and actually worsen your departure angle. I'm all for modding, but not at the expense of functionality.

I went with a Dynomax Rock Crawler that puts the muffler in place of the resonator and totally opens up the area below the rear bumper. aFe and MBRP also make similar systems, as well as high clearance systems that keep the resonator. A lot of people really think the resonator helps to mitigate drone.

Most of the info on sound is subjective, so its very difficult to make an informed decision. I'm happy with the sound of the Dynomax, its throaty without being raspy, but it is considerably louder than stock (what isn't?) and I won't run it with the top off until Spring.

Personally, I think the black Gibson tips are too big if I were going for a black duel look I would get this one.

Magnaflow 15160 - MagnaFlow Performance "Black Series" Axle Back Exhaust System for 07-14 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK with 3.6/3.8L - Quadratec

With that said I have the banks exhaust and love!!!!!! It!!!!!

I definitely agree with Hunterthebeagle on this exhaust option and it looks awesome, I'd better save my pennys.

That price is ridiculous for a dual outlet muffler.

Mine had that exhaust on it when I bought it. Loud and droning on the expressway, I will be replacing it within the next year to something quieter. It does sound great at an idle, sounds like a V8.

Dual 4" tips on a naturally aspirated V6 is pointless, and I think the skulls wearing helmets look almost as bad as the tips themselves.

I like the way it's pretty much hidden from view.

You got to really look up there to see it!

I cant figure you out. I'm the farthest from "rimz" or dubz or whatever BS generalizations you like to spell out. Oh yeah, or basketball player (like your last analogy). Are you older than 12 or educated in any way? I hope you respond before the mods pull this off.

You have me confused with someone else. I made no basketball player analogy. Learn to take a joke. Did you find out anything about that $50 swing gate strength enhancement? Like I said many on this forum myself included, would be very interested if such a thing exists at that price.

Sorry that must have been the other guy bashing 20's......I haven't heard a word. It's still hanging in the shop I will try swing over there on my lunch. I know whatever it was they said they didn't need it.

I'm confused. In your other thread you said that you bought the kit for $50.

I did. I paid 50 bucks but apparently they didnt need it. Supposedly they didnt need anything. But the kit was 50 bucks. I got a 50 credit. I'm not lying bud....I spent $6,300 on the lift, wheels, setup. Thats the price I paid for my 'rimz'. My oh-so-ghetto RockstarZ

I didn't think you were lying for a minute. I'm not so sure about you shop though. I really hope this thing exists, but I have never heard of anything the can allow the tail gate to hold more weight for only $50. Most options are north of $200.

Got it, love it but agree with post re departure angle - even with a lift I have to be careful not to squash em. If you do serious off roading think twice. BTW a bit pricy but warranty is top drawer - my tips started rusting and they shipped me new ones no questions asked. Impressive.
