Exhaust Question

If anyone where to choose between the Borla, Magna flow, or AFE cat back exhaust systems, which would you get and why?

thanks
chris

neither. JK's respond very poorly to exhaust systems and CAI's. unless you want to just change the sound, I wouldn't put one on.

yes. now I don't own one mind you, but I have driven jeeps with them I noticed no difference. some folks on here have them, and they say the same thing.

for about the same price, I suggest getting a Superchips programmer. this thing I do have. the compression ratio can be modified to run higher octane fuels and actually get more energy out. with 4.10 gears and an auto trans, my jeep was a little tough to get moving from a stop on 35's. with a 93 octane fuel tune, it drives better than stock.

JK's respond VERY well to these programmers, and it's tough finding folks that don't like them. there are MANY of us on this forum running these, they'll back up what I just said.

I'm not exactly sure why cat-backs, CAI's, TB spacers etc suck on this engine, but a Superchip will give you some bang and giddy up.

It might be 10hp additional to a New Challenger/Camero/Roush Mustang at---6500 rpm, but

To a 3.8L jeep V6----nope !!

My Flowmaster dual cat-back even cut down the mileage/response at highway speeds--

The 3.8L (old), design is for a measureable amout of BACKPRESSURE and when you apply those muffler systems--it's gone !!

There ain't no reason for it, just the way we doit !!

Enjoy the sound, or the performance loss--or both, I do !!

JIMBO

OH, by the way, even the fairly new Avenger Supercharger system, loses over 15% of it's ADDITIONAL power, when coupled with the FREEFLOWING muffler systems !!
