exhaust spacers work on aev 3.5?

OK guys as some of you know I've been all over the place on which lift to put on my 12 jku rubi. I've settled on the aev 3.5. My question is has anyone tried exhaust spacers instead of the afe y pipe? I would love to go with the y pipe but with the high cost of the lift I simply don't have the extra money. I would rather use the spacers as opposed to cutting into the crossover pipe and welding in a hoop.

Check over on AEV's site. A couple of people posted up negative reviews of the spacers. Don't do what I did and think your avg local muffler shop can cut and weld in a 'bend'. I had mine done .... And had to have it redone because the job was so poor - and, it was still a hack job. I finally gave in and purchased the aFe - what I should've done to begin with.

Realizing you didn't ask this, but if you're not wheeling right away, I'd recommend saving for the aFe. The shaft only hits at full droop, so unless you're getting into some really flexy stuff right from the get-go, it would be worth waiting, IMHO.

My fear exactly! I don't want my brand new exhaust hacked up with poor welds. What about the spacers are they having issues with? I suppose I can avoid wheeling my Jeep until I can afford the afe. Any issues with the stock front driveshaft? Do I have to save up for an aftermatket piece?

I wheeled my 12 with the 3.5 several times before I did the AFE No problems with
Front DL
Now that I installed the AFE I can really flex it

Make sure you move the evap over to the left a couple inches otherwise you will damage the rear DL boot

Outlaw JK and Comac were "early adopters" and have offered sage advice. As Comac stated there were several reports of people who ran into problems with the front drive hitting at droop with the Teraflex spacers and ended up taking them off and going with the AFE pipe.

My JKR is in Wixom getting the 2.5", bumpers etc. Can't wait

FYI - I just confirmed: Walker111 over the AEV forum actually ordered and installed the TF spacers and the DS still hit even with the spacers installed.
