Hey guys i'm having a really hard time choosing an exhaust system. Can you guys tell me some of the loudest and best exhaust systems for a Jeep JKU 2014. Thanks :)

I have the Gale Banks system on my 09 JKU, I like it and it is louder than the stock exhaust but I don't know that I would say it is LOUD!:iamhappy:

It's not like a straight pipe or anything.

Loud is a subjective term, I'm 47 so loud to me is probably different than it is to someone 21.

Good Luck!

Im 18 and id agree with you lol.

I do like the Banks system, it sounds even better with the CAI added as well. I wanted a different sound so that it didn't sound like my grandma's minivan  I didn't really care about a performance upgrade.

I don't mean this to sound critical but after coming off the closed Imogene Pass quiet is better. May I suggest a Harley as you can get some loud fine sounding motor notes.

listen, call me a sucker, but i really like that gibson metal mulisha muffler.

its cool looking.
That pipe has bigger exits than my MBRP did on my Duramax. It's obnoxious and I suppose if you never plan on going off road it works. I went with the Dynomax Rock Crawler 39522 and over the next seven days went on a 1200 mile journey to northern Idaho. I would recommend that you first take your stock exhaust off. Drive wherever the hell you want and after one week install that muffler. It will seem down right pleasant then. I have to admit that over the 1200 miles it either sounded better or I got used to it. Either way, it is now throaty, sometimes appealing. Keep in mind that the sound will always be there (it dumps under the back seat) and you will play your music louder in order to hear it.

6 bangers sound like total crap no matter what after market exhaust you put on. I always laugh my head off at the Honda Civics and other rice burners when they pass me sounding like a blender crushing ice.

The one exception is the 6 they use Nissan 370Z and their other performance models. That's not too bad.

If you want pipes, get a V8 Mustang and put on some Magna Flows or something like that and leave your Jeep alone.

Or just cut the muffler off with a hacksaw and crank your Rap Crap subwoofer up with your windows down to show everyone just how cool you really are!!

Porsche 180-degree sixes and BMW straight sixes sound great, and Ferrari Dino V6s sound great and Nissan's VQ series V6s sound great, whether in their sedans or the sportscars. But it's a pretty short list.

Oh, and Johnny Vintage, Honda Civics don't have V6s. :) They do sound like crap, but if that's why you think V6s sound bad you're blaming the wrong engine configuration.

I have heard one good Honda Civic. It had a Skunkworks exhaust and I must say it was awesome. Traded in a Scion FR-S for my Jeep and it was bitter sweet. That car was fun as hell, especially if you had mods. Would zip through the bends and get amazing gas mileage. But man was it impractical. I had to scoot the front seat just to get my 7 year old in it. So yeah, you can make a 6 cylinder or even a 4 banger sound good if you have the right components. And no the 10.00 Ebay special is not the right component.

Just unbolt the stock muffler and run it like that for a few days. It sounds tits and it will save you money. The pipe it already angled down so there is no need for an extension for what is already there. Just unbolt the clap and take off the two hangers....done! try that before you go buy any other system.

Not all Six Cylinder engines sound bad. This is my Z4M Roadster with my aftermarket Stromungs. Sounds great to me! That said, I think I will leave my JK stock as far as exhausts go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ7fy-iqsmY&list=UUOJAJi8yhZldek_4n5YGTPA
I fussed with my Z4 3.0si. The exhaust made it louder, but didn't improve performance. The same is true of the Akropovik exhaust on my R1200GSA... louder and expensive, but no significant improvement. I've got Magnaflow on my TJ, because the PO didn't know any better either... It sounds fine, I guess, but I've finally learned my lesson. Jeeps, like many vehicles, don't benefit significantly from aftermarket air filters, spacers, and exhausts, because the original equipment was well researched and designed. Real performance improvements are expensive.

So much hate for the exhaust lovers. I plan on adding an after market exhaust at some point just to add a deeper, badder sound. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to wake up the neighbourhood when I fire her up but when I put the pedal down a bit, I'd like to hear a bit of a growl.

I have heard a lot of Jeeps with nice sounding exhausts. They sound awesome and don't sound like a Honda with a fart can nor do they sound like a big block with a magnaflow. Putting an aftermarket exhaust to louden this thing up doesn't magically disengage the 4X4, lower the suspension, and make the top and body one piece. It's still a wrangler and is just as capable as any other wrangler

Both Jeeps are 2013 with 3.6L

Girlfriend has the Banks, good sound, very well made fit and finish is very good and much lighter than stock, deep tone and retains the resonator.

I have AFE Machforce HiTuck, way lighter, exhaust stays on left side, removes resonator, exhaust is out of the way. Loud and to some annoying without the resonator.

Amazing how much the stock muffler weighs.

As for me, I LOVE Good quality Exhausts. No hate here, I believe the Op clearly expressed he wants a noise maker and that isn't - a great exhaust IMO.
My CamaroSS sounds like a Nascar NOT because it has a noise maker exhaust but because it makes almost 500 RWHP/TQ. The exhaust is a critical component in the overall design of the power. Motors are air pumps in effect anyway. Better air in coupled with free flow air out and the Motor will make more power than if there is a restriction in the pipeline.
That said, I like Magnaflow (in my case Custom along with the pipes and Custom Headers from Kooks).
If someone simply wants Loud a cutout is the way to go.
I had an electric cutout for track useage until the current set-up Dyno'd w/i 1hp of the "open Headers". Car is still loud as hell but again for different reasons.
Love Jeeps, Fast Cars and great sound when it means something but that's just me.
Someone owns a rig they do whatever they want and pay the tickets too.

I had a Flowmaster Super40 SI/DO put in. It's nice and tucked up with the dumps right behind the rear bumper dumping down. No chance on it getting wacked coming off of rocks. Sounds really good. Almost Nissan ZQ'ish.

I don't like the sound of the 3.6s. Louder is NOT better. I have the Dynomax Ultra flo on my 3.8 and love it! Its not too loud that it sounds ricey. But gives it a nice rumble.

No matter what kind of exhaust you instal, a V6 will NEVER sound like a V8.

Unless I drop in a 6.4 HEMI into my JK it will never sound as good as my dads 6.3 AMG, or even his 6.2 Raptor.
