expedition one front bumper

i called Expedition One and had them email me the install instructions on their front bumper and vacume pump relocation bracket install -- useing a cutoff tool to remove oem bracket is pretty straight forward but they relocate the pump by the ecu, close to the battery, and remove about a 2 ft section of hose from the system, this to me seems overkill for relocating this pump -- is there a simple relocation kit that any of you have used on a 2012?

I agree that it is probably overkill to move it under the hood because that takes up even more of the limited available space in the engine compartment that could be used for installing other things.

You are right that the pump gets moved from the front bumper location to under the hood, but it is not relocated anywhere near the battery as you state. It is moved from the driver's side front bumper to the driver's side engine compartment. The battery is on the passenger side. The relocation requires shortening the vacuum hose, moving the electrical wire, and using two bolts for the bracket that are already bolted into the front fender seam. It is very easy to do, but not advisable if you need the engine compartment space.

This is helpful information, but if the OP is also getting the Expedition One Rubi Skid with the Expedition One Front Bumper, that bracket may not work with the Rubi Skid. The Rubi Skid bolts to the swaybar bracket location where the Evo relocation bracket is attached and the vacuum pump will probably set to low and interfere with installing the Rubi Skid.

under hood realestate is already lacking for future mods, planning on spod, onboard air of some type and wanting dual battery setup

I have the Expedition One bumper and the EVO relocation bracket. Both work fine together and it is a simple install. If you want to use the Rubi skid, you can just use a hole saw to cut a small hole where the pump is and you won't have any interference issues (and the bottom of the pump stays above the bottom of the skid, so it is still protected).

The Rubi Skid works on all JK models, not just the Rubicon. If you want to install the spod, you don't want to use the relocation bracket that comes with the Expedition One bumper because it mounts the vacuum pump in the location where the spod gets installed. It sounds like the Evo bracket is the way to go for your situation.

Good information to know. How difficult was it to drill a hole through the Rubi Skid where the vacuum pump sets?

A drill press and a hole saw. No big deal.

This is a great looking bumper and I am interested. The website was a bit lacking in details. How heavy is this? Is the wich plate extra? Thanks
