I purchased my lifetime max care from http://www.ChryslerFactoryPlans.com Price was $2275 and they offered the 12 month same as cash plan. The chryslerwarrantys.com website would NOT offer 12 month same as cash.. they said with their prices "so low" they couldn't.

Same here, got mine from them after I talked to my dealer who couldn't match the price or offer the financing. He was very upfront and told me that the financing on them requires a huge buy in, and they don't do the volume to support the cost of participating.

I think since model year 2012 all Chryslers come with 2yrs free oil changes with your purchase of a new vehicle. Like Chrysler customer appreciation package deal I think is what it's called. Go to your service dept. & get them to do a VIN inquiry & it will say.
If anyone needs a VIN inquiry to check your warranty status or recalls I can do that for ya.

I have a '13 and my first oil change was free (dealer sent a coupon) but I just had 2nd one done this past weekend and it was not free. If I'm missing something please let me know.

I was thinking of getting an Extended Service Contract from Chrysler Warranty's until I read this paragraph of the contract:

"The following vehicles are not eligible for a Chrysler Group Service Contract: ... vehicles used for postal, dump truck or severe off-road use; vehicles converted from two to four-wheel drive; vehicles altered or converted from the original manufacturer’s
specifications..."

Not sure the definition of "severe off-road" or "vehicles altered or converted from the original manufacturer's specification", but it seems like much of what I plan to do with my jeep is subject to interpretation. It doesn't say parts which are altered it says vehicles which are altered. Anyone with specific knowledge here?

I guess it depends on the individual dealership. When we bought our 2013 Sahara 10 months ago it included free lifetime oil and filter changes. The only stipulation is that we must have the oil changed 4x per year by them, regardless of how few miles it is driven.

Wife has driven it around 5,500 miles now and the oil has been changed 3 times already. Hey, it's their rule.

I am a son of a dealer and manage the store. I am buying a warranty on mine. I will not buy it until my warranty is up, or I move to Colorado, or they dissolve the lifetime plan which could happen. I may only keep it for a few years because I can't seem to keep anything longer than two years.

PM me & I can beat every price quoted in this thread.

The dealership is offering a WRAP warranty, to get it bumper to bumper for 7years or 100,000.

Is this the same as the extended lifetime?

If it is a 7 year warranty it is not lifetime. Lifetime is for the life of the vehicle, no limit on miles, for as long as you own it. That particular warranty is not transferable except in FL and NC (I think it's those two states).

That's how it works, and the warranty is over at that point.

Dealers can sell shit warranties if they choose. Make sure you are talking about a MOPAR/Chrysler warranty. What you are describing may not be MOPAR.

That's the kind of crap that gives dealers a bad name.

APR and Warranties are in NO WAY related. They make $$ selling the Warranty AND make money on the APR spread. In your case, they made $$ on both.

That's a technique that some of the less honest F&I guys try and use. Another tactic was they would tell people with poor credit the only way the bank would approve the deal is if there was an extended warranty. Then they'd slam them with an off the wall price for the warranty and pack it into the high rate sub-prime finance rate. A big payday for the dealership and the F&I manager. Add that to doc fees and all the other bogus crap and it really makes buying a car an unpleasant thing for some people.

Probably a little but not THAT much. Before the price increase April 1st, Tom was selling them for $2,315, which was the lowest price on the forum. Give him a call and see what the new price is. Hayes Jeep is a supporting vendor on here.

That's the retail MSRP you're looking at there, which should only show up if you're in Florida (as they have unique state laws that force FL residents to buy at MSRP). Has to do with it being transferable.

The 4/1 price increase was $150 for the Maximum Care Lifetime Vehicle Protection Plan with $100 deductible.

with the price increase, that sounds about right. I paid 2315 prior to the increase. And to the guy who is saying the Ziegler dealership is a scam, he is an idiot. Every warranty I purchased through Ziegler has appeared on my Mopar Owners Connect site within 24 hours, and I receive a welcome back FROM MOPAR.

Ah. I live in FL, what happens if I move states, is it still transferable?

I tried calling the 800 # and it was like playing "who's on first" with the operator.

ME: I live in Florida, I ordered a new Jeep Wrangler and I am evaluating the Maximum Care lifetime warranty, from what I understand if I purchase this coverage when I sell the vehicle the new owner has the option for $50 to transfer the lifetime warranty coverage. Before I continue can you confirm this? (my real question revolved around what happens when I move out of state, but never got that far)

Operator (OP): I don't know I need to see the contract.

ME: Can I give you my VIN #?

OP: Yes that would help, last 8 digits

ME: [xyz12345]

OP: Congratulations on your purchase...I need to see the contract to answer your question.

ME: So I need to buy it first and then you can answer my question?

OP: Yes.

----------------------

Anyway new question(s), from what I understand I have two options when purchasing it, I can bundle it into my loan/financing agreement or I can pay for it separately interest free. I have bad credit and will most likely opt for the pay for it separately since 0% interest will be better than anything they offer. From what I understand buying this coverage in Florida the price is non-negotiable, HOWEVER, it gives me leverage on my Wrangler purchase price.

My first question is what is the "order of operations" when financing a new Jeep and talking about extended warranty. Will I first be presented with the APR % I qualify for and then negotiations begin with extended warranty or will they try to strong arm my decision on extended warranty + any other b.s. extras like undercoating, paint sealant, or can I demand these "add-ons" be discussed after their initial APR % offer?

Second question, if the non-negotiable FL price w/ $100 deductible costs $3730 (Q2-part-1) can I negotiate a discount on the Wrangler price and keep the extended warranty payments separate from the loan to lock-in the zero % interest? (Q2-part-2) Is it safe to assume I will be able to negotiate a larger discount against the Wrangler price by letting them bundle the warranty price into my loan at the (higher than average) APR % due to my bad credit? (Q2-part-3) at say a $42k Wrangler price and a $3730 lifetime warranty, what are reasonable discounts I can expect to negotiate with the dealer, should I shoot for $1,000 off - or more? Lastly how much more should I be able to negotiate if I let them bundle it with my loan and the above average APR %?

I talked to a buddy, I will probably just pass on the warranty. As it is now I only put 5k miles on it a year and I am not intending to go rock crawling in S Florida. I might move to Vegas and have opportunity to hit sand dunes. 10% of the purchase price seems real steep for life time warranty and not know if it is transferable once I change states or having to limit my upgrade options (lift and 35" tires could void warranty), probably better off just to pass.

Slightly off-topic, but somewhat related. In the event of a wreck thats NOT total loss, how would this affect the warranty? Any ideas?

If a crashed vehicle is repaired @ a dealership, using genuine OEM parts, why would any warranty be voided????

Most insurance companies now use aftermarket/non-oem parts when repairing vehicles, depending on the situation it would be costly to pay the difference.
