Extended Warranty - Maximum Care vs Advanced Plus

Fellow Jeepers - have any of you added on extended warranties? If so, what kinds of costs are you paying for the Maximum vs the Advanced plus plan?

Also, any recommendations on which plan to go with?

I have 2012 JKU Sahara that has the 430N, Uconnect, heated seats, most of the bells and whistles (mall crawler). That said, I'd want/hope that any extended warranty I would add would cover those items. Also, do any of the warranties cover anything with the freedom top/hard top or the soft top?

Lastly, the dealer told me that I was eligible for a lifetime coverage with either of those plans. I think it would definitely be worth it if the price was right.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

There are several current threads on extended warranties.

Forum member Mike Noble (SN 'Noble') works at a dealership in Michigan and sells the lifetime bumper-to-bumper warranty, $100 ded., for a little under $2,000. That's for a new Jeep with the initial 12-month warranty still in effect. I think the cost goes up a bit after that.

I'll have to reach out to Noble - thanks! Does it matter that he is in MI and I'm located in VA?

that was really what I was hoping to get some feedback on here too...max care vs Advanced.

I'm inclined to go with Max care since I believe it'll cover things like the 430N, uconnect, etc.

Am I correct in that thinking?

I would agree if you are going to do any modifications. If you are keeping it bone stock and put 20,000 miles a year on might be 1500 well spent, especially if you have the rare good dealer close by who won't fight you tooth and nail on warranty repairs..

I put about 16,000 miles on it per year...perks of living in the suburbs of Northern VA and working closer to the city...so far I have it bone stock but down the road would be interested in a lift. When I was speaking with dealer, he didnt make it sound like a lift would affect it...is that not true?

All I can say is get it in writing. Read any of these forums enough and people report getting warranties denied for the most inane reasons including small lifts.

I just cancelled my extended third party warranties for a full refund because I was within the 30 day window. I'm glad I came to my senses. I was such a sucker. But I feel great about my purchase now.

Sometimes they work out in your favor and sometimes they don't. If you get a limited term Mopar warranty, I believe you can get a refund if you don't use it. I plan to keep mine for 10 years or so, basically stock, 10k per year or so, I think the $2000 sounds fine, keeping it that long.

It's like going to Vegas, but guess who normally wins, NOT US, but rather the Casino's................:

Now if your really worried about not having a Insurance Plan, and you just can't sleep at night, because of it, THEN WHY NOT BUY TWO POLICIES! This way when one get's denied, just maybe if your lucky, the second one may have you covered, or will it also be denied......
