Factory premium soft top vs Fastback

I have been researching Wranglers for 2 years now, hopefully going to take the plunge this year. I had always thought that getting the Dual Top Option was the way to go, but now thinking of getting just the hard top and purchasing the Fastback soft top, especially considering how expensive the dual option is from the factory.

My concerns about the Fastback are the ability to quickly put it on and off, in case of unexpected rain, and overall noise compared to the premium soft top. Ease of use is a primary goal for me.

Anyone out there have experience with these two tops that could provide the pros and cons of each?

Thanks guys, this forum has been invaluable for those of us researching for first time Jeep purchases!

There's a lot of good information in Soft Top HELP!!!.

Specifically look for my post on page one containing the review written by Nuke83 in which he compares OEM standard, premium and trektops. He owns all three so you get a real world review.

If you actually want to take the top off, get either the factory top or a Supertop NX. IMO, its pretty pointless to buy a wrangler and not be able to take the top down, but thats just me

Thanks Starbrite, I'll check it out!

DTack - that was what is was trying to determine, if the Fastback had to be removed all the way, or if it could be pulled back like the premium soft top.
