I have my wheel spacers and Teraflex leveling kit ordered (2" front 1" rear). I want to run 285/70/17 on my stock 17" rims. I was told by a rep at Quadratec that this setup will work fine. This jeep will see 85% street and 15% mild off roading. I can't spend a whole lot on these mods bc my wife will kill me so I need an affordable tire and white lettering is a must. I like the look of the Falken Rocky Mountains and the Fierce Attitude MT. They are close in price I just don't know which is a better value. The Falkens seem to have better reviews...
I'd go Nitto if they had white lettering.
Is Fierce made by Goodyear? Which would you pick for my needs?
I run the fierce tires and I like them a lot. Minus the barb wire side wall. A good amount of my driving is DD but with the occasional off roading. Dont have any experience with the Falkens so I cant say if they are good or not.
Fierce are made by GY, and they look very similar to a Duratrac. Not sure how they perform though, but I see good reviews. I do know they're about $100/per tire less than a duratrac once you get up to the 35"x18" range....
Tell the truth.
The Fierce tires are made by Dunlop, which is owned by Goodyear. A lot of people on the JK forums run them and really like them. They get good reviews for on-road traction and good traction for light off-roading [no mudding]. The tread pattern looks pretty good as well.
I'm pretty sure discounttiredirect.com is also a sponsoring vendor on this forum.
they are, and I love discount tire and support them religiously to the tune of over $5000 in 5 years; - but unfortunately not everyone lives near a discount tire; whereas most everyone lives near a Wal-Mart (also arguably an unfortunate fact.) I was just providing one commonly accessible price comparison. I saw another site (can't remember which one) where the DTs were about $90 more than same size Fierce.
