Fastback Soft top suggestions???

Yesterday was the first warm day of the year and we took off the hardtop the JKURX. The kids and I had a BLAST driving around "topless". Now I am thinking it would be nice to have a soft top. I honestly didn't ever think I would be wanting one, but would really appreciate any advice from this forum. I did order an electric hardtop winch yesterday, but can see having a soft top in spring or fall as a great option.

I really like the look of the "fastback" tops and see the ORH and Bestop as being the two options. After reading on this forum about the leaking channel on the ORH and the lead time to actually get one, it has sent me the Bestop route.

The "TrekTop NX" is probably the front runner, but I am torn whether or not I need to go the extra distance and get the "black twill" version. I like the color a lot better but not the extra $500. I am still leaning toward the Black Twill Trektop NX.

Anyone want to chime in and convince me one way or the other?? I would appreciate the help.

I have had a OEM soft top from 2009, 2012, and a 2013 JKU. Hated the 2009 because no spring load and you would have to flip the side of the top around the doors channels.
The 2012 JKU came with dual tops and the regular Soft Top. Much better than the 2009.
The 2013 came with dual tops and I got the PREMIUM Twill Soft top with spring assist. Freaking LOVE IT.
I had the Trektop NX for JKU and it looks awesome!!!! Then I got so fed up with taking the windows out and they don't flex or roll very well. Pain in the butt.
Sold it and I would only look for a Premium Soft top on craigs list or local.
The only drawback is that when folded down all the way it sticks up a little more than the regular OEM top.
Good luck on your choice.

If you haven't already, make sure you check out Soft Top HELP!!!.

Nuke83 wrote some amazing posts comparing the OEM tops to the trektop. He owns all three, so you get a REAL person's true comparison rather than a marketing blurb. His comparison posts should all be within the first two pages. He also regularly posts answers to people's new questions, too.

I have a ORH MultiTop supposedly shipping this week(includes the Fastback style). I ordered 2/26 so, about 5 weeks from order to receiving.
I'll post when I get it and have it installed.

I really like the options you have with the ORH, but I have read reports of leaking on the center channel....I would assume all soft tops leak at one point or the other....

have you read any info on that?

As all ways, great advice StarBrite. I have read through a TON of topics on the forum including the one you pointed out, but I haven't been able to find a ton of information on the difference between the Black Twill TrekTop NX and the standard Trektop NX. I have read that the black twill is the same as the factory premium material...but it looks like no one on here has one! I wish I could see the two side by side to compare.

I think the Trektop NX has the spring loaded channel correct? I really like the look of the fastback, so I am leaning that direction at the moment.

did you have the standard grayish black or the black diamond NX?
