^^^ this. Funny thing I forget about those back mats and then the next thing you know--- the JKU twist starts as I'm driving down the highway. Husky liners are too expensive to let fly out.
Haha yep, wife or kid mode is only fronts off. Go for all four, the rears will seem like a cakewalk after you're done hefting the fronts.
And as the others have mentioned, eye your rear mats - that one got me the first time on the highway. You'll see it levitating out of the corner of your eye.
Be CAREFUL when you remove the door straps. The front doors will swing forward and the mirror back will hit the top part of the front hood. Make sure you keep hold of the door as you disconnect the electrical harness and door strap. Note on my Jeep I have a black armor plate at each one of the points where the mirror can hit the hood.
There are no rules to removing parts on the JK. Remove one door and one Freedom Panel or just the rear top ir you have the need. Do what ever feels right to you. Just don't forget to wave :thumb:
If you have small kids and a dog it's not a bad idea to leave the rear door on in spite of all the complaints.
I ve tryed with removing 2 and 4 doors on mine. Both ways are good. Now, if you remove the top too, then go for all doors. Make sure to grab a jacket in case its cold.
I attempted to remove the doors yesterday... I got the front passenger door off and up to my third-floor apartment (only place to store them) and realized that there is no way that I have the energy to take all four doors up three flights of stairs. So I bailed and put it back on.
The back doors are easier LOL Time to create a hoist system!
