I searched (not extensively) for a thread on this so if there is one already, sorry but I felt this needed to be shared. I will try to post pics soon but the weather has been crappy in Georgia. So after I got up the nerve to trim my fenders and took my time to cut and sand the edges, I realized that they still had kind of a kindergarten look to them. They had really rough edges and up close did not really look good at all in my opinion. My brain began working when I found some spare door trim gaurd that I purchased from Autozone a while back. I began sliding the piping along the edge of my cut fenders and WOW they look like I purchased them offline. I used the black trim of course but it is available in many different colors and cost about $10 at any auto parts store. Just wanted to share and I will post pics soon.

I haven't put the door trim on the front fender yet because it has been raining and don't have room to pull my jeep in the garage.

I really like the way you cut the fenders. Basically kept the stock width and just cut them so they're flat. I'd do the same if I wasn't such a big chicken.

Has anyone ever cut their fenders and kept the factory light?

There's a YouTube video on how to trim your fenders, they use the door trim in that too.

Yes I love the idea of retaining your factory lights. I figured someone had already thought of the door trim but it looks great!

Lots of people keep the factory light and relocate under the fender.

I'm going to attempt keeping the factory light in the original location on the fender.

Buy a small led one like this and splice it in. Looks much cleaner than the big a#$ factory one.

Sometimes the biga$$ factory light would work best. See, I have a full width bumper (Rampage full width Recovery) that comes up to meet the fender...

Correct but we're talking about cutting fenders here. Obviously mine wouldn't work nor would there be a need if I didn't cut my fenders.

Where did you buy this led? Have you had any issues with the can-bus rejecting them?

For the life of me I can't remember the name of the shop by it was a light supply company that carried police lights and assorted led marker lights. I'll continue to search for them and get back to you. Might try a trailer supply place too. They're only 4" long and I have had zero problems with them.

I bought a set just like that but haven't put them on yet. For now the big ass factory ones are it! I thought they'd just rip off when flexed, but they haven't yet.

Just cut it up against the angle in the bumper. The sides are open so I'm trying to think of some to do there.

I'm talking about cutting my fenders too...cutting them and retaining the OEM light which is what I understood that tomgillotti was asking when he asked -

Not sure why the "rolleyes" attitude...
