Fender Flare Connditioner

Searched through the forums and didn't find all that much info...

Just bought a '13 JKU and am looking for a product to keep the fender flares/bumpers in good condition. Any advice on what products to use would be much appreciated!

Mr Clean Majic Eraser suppose to work good.
I got some at Walmart but haven't used them yet.
I did try Back To Black but after it rained it left a white calky
streaks. Last time I tried this and it working great so far.

Careful with the magic eraser...I used it on my wife's van and where it hit the paint it left some obvious marks, like it went through the clear coat. Just be careful. I don't know what is in those things, but I will not let them near my new Wranger!

Nothing in them... they are just abrasive, you can probably get some polishing compound and polish the clear coat again with a orbital buffer, depending on how far you went into it..

303 and Vinylex by Lexol seem to be the two most popular. I haven't tried the 303 yet, but I love the Vinylex. It's good for all rubber and plastic trim!

Lots of good stuff to try...

I got some Mother's Back to Black today. Before I try it out, any thoughts on that stuff?

Since it's new you should look at Uv protectants, once it getys worn in and starts to fade then you can try Forever Black. I put this stuff on my TJ's fenders 2 years ago and it just started to show wear/fade this year. It goes on like edge dressing btw.

IDK the difference but used Back to Black for years on the TJ....maybe it has to do with the size of the flares/ fenders.....on the the wife's JK I use turtle wax ICE it lasts well and than don't need to worry about having something else for the rest of the Jeep

There is a way to get the black back using a heat gun, but I can't remember the details. Search for it and it should come up. My buddy did it to his JK and was able to get the bumpers and flares back to like new condition and it lasted a pretty long time.

I tried one of those Back to or Forever Black products once on one of the Bushwacker flares on my TJ...hated it. Then I tried Armorall Extreme Tire Shine (bottle, not spray can). Loved it. Made the flares black again and it's not as shiny on the flares as it is on the tires. No streaking. But I hadn't even thought about the 303...and I already have a big bottle of that for my cataraft. I'll put some 303 on the new JK flares today. It has always been THE product to use on inflatable boats (ask any river outfitter)...but it could be harder to find than the Armorall product.

Based on my research, I've come to the same conclusion. I haven't picked any up yet, but I'm going to give Vinylex a try since it is a good bit cheaper and easier to find locally.

I have been using 303 since I got my Jeep. I like it a lot. Stays on for quite a while too even in all the rain we get here in South Florida.

Also use 303. Its a bit pricey ($20 a bottle) but it stays on so long that I use it on my tires instead of armour all. I use it on every piece of black plastic (fenders, bumpers, mirrors, rear hinge covers) once a month. Keeps them black and shiney.

Another vote for Zaino...however I have never used any of their plastic/tire care, but have heard great things of course. Actually, I've never heard anything bad about Zaino. I have, however, been using their full paint care and wash for 10+ years and it is the ONLY wax I trust on my cars hands down!

Thanks...any others feel the same?

I'm thinking of trying the 303 since it's UV protection...
