finally getting 35s

After owning my Jeep for three years, I have finally saved up to do the big stuff. I had a 3 inch lift a few months ago. Had the inside line-x'd a couple weeks ago. Finally, tomorrow I am having new 17 inch wheels, 35's, 4.88 gears, Detroit locker front and rear. I am overwhelmed with excitement and I cannot sleep. I also ordered the teraflex HD hinged carrier. Waiting on that to come in.

I cannot freaking wait.

I sure will. Meanwhile, here is how the line-x came out.
I was worried about tranny and exhaust heat, but its thick enough and it insulates well enough that it only feels slightly warm to the touch.

You should be fine with the TF carrier. I believe there has only been one report of a break and the report I found came from a person that has also bashed TF parts in the past so I am not putting much behind it. Maybe they did have a weak unit because it does happen but there are to many other units sold without issues. I have a heavy 35 on mine and there is no sign of issues.

I like how the Line-x looks. I need to add that to my list.

There has been probs with more than one, just saying keep an eye on it last thing you want is your tire falling off.
here is a TF Post on issue. If you have a concern call em.

This is a very rare event to have one of these break like this. TeraFlex adjustable mounts are covered by a LifeTime warranty. Any customers with concerns please call TeraFlex at 1-888-837-2359 or send a email to tech@teraflx.com.

What a great day tomorrow will bring. Line-x turned out great.

I have the TF hinged carrier to go with my 35s and I have full confidence in it.

Looks great! can I ask why you put the red letters in on the generals? Just not your thing?

You did an awesome job on the line-x. I can see it was well prepped.
I did the 4.88 recently myself. They make driving my jeep so fun it should be illegal.

I liked the red a lot, but I had already decided on all blacked out.

4.88's? Do you have a stick? I have 5.13's with an auto and I wouldn't want any less.

Yes, I have manual. I love it. Its a lot of fun. A little more gear would probably be nice, but its my daily driver so I have to consider gas.

I still have my 3.73 gears (manual) with 35's and I find myself having to downshift a lot more, especially merging on the freeway. I think I'm about ready to regear to 4.88 and add lockers. Even with these gears though, it has more pep than my old Land Cruiser which was way underpowered for its weight.

Haven't been driving very long with 35s but I've got 3.21s and a manual. No real complaints, it's fine for me but I do drive slow anyway.

Every time I do a mod adding weight or now with bigger tires I seem to drive even slower, to where I feel like I'm driving like a grandma now. Knowing that my Jeep is never going to outrace anyone is actually somewhat relaxing and less stressful.

I agree with you about it being relaxing. I don't drive fast mostly to save gas. Its just good to have that extra power to get into traffic if you need to.

Just finished installing the frescoes tailgate thing. I put it on the 35 setting but my bumper compensates for big tires so I might relocate it to the 33 setting to give me more window.

Yeah, it would be nice to have more power, just in case.

I had to look this up. Does this actually replace the third brake light (legally)? I'm using the stock tire mount with the TF hinged carrier and my spare pretty much covers up the brake light so I need to find some type of replacement.

Yes, it replaced the stock one. I don't know what your state laws are there. Texas you dont need a third break light.
