finally joined the jk club

I finally joined the jk club after I got my 08 jku Sahara
The jeep is pretty solid and run just new with 90k miles but there was some minor issues with doors rattling specially rear passenger doors and a small squeak from driver side freedom top also O/D button isn't working finally a cluncky steering

Anyone can help to eliminate those problems cause they are taking some of the jeep driving joy away.

Welcome to the dark side

Squeaks and noises are part of the game. Just be glad it's not wobbles and shakes

The clunky steering may be your intermediate shaft. It can be replaced or the shaft greased.
Google "Jk Intermediate shaft fix"

I did manage to adjust the door latch and its a bit off lined with the frame but happy that rattles are gone.

Also find the 2 trox bolts under the freedom top corners was loose I tightened them and there is still a small squeak but I guess I will figure it out soon

And finally the clunky steering I find that the firewall steering bushing is out of position so I take it apart and grease it after putting the bearing and stuffs together also greased the intermediate shaft slip part under the boot . well the clunk still there however I find that there some wear sign in the shaft joints possibly the cause of the clunk.

When I first bought my jku there was few problems.

1- driver side squeak or creek .
Fixed by loosening the roll bar bolts on the windshield frame and drive the jeep to flat surface and tightened them.

2- ODO button was not working.
Fixed by reconnecting the connector

3- clunky steering.
Fixed by putting the steering bushing together I mean the on in the firewall.
And tightened the shaft u-joints.

4- battery drain.
Fixed by replacing the old battery.

5- Engine slight overheat.
Fixed by : found the fan connector disconnected and when connected fan won't stop
So I replaced booth low and high speed fan relays.

Problems not solved yet

1- TC shudder at 1400 rpm.
2- Airbag light on.
