Finally my prayers are answered!!!

I've been begging bumper manufacturers to tap into the overland market and make a rear bumper full width, out of aluminum, that can take gas provisions, a hilift, and linked to the tailgate. Finally, it's be done! Thanks Expedition One!

Bumper with no carrier (full width BTW) 36lbs
With carrier 70lbs!

Some spare tires weigh more than that.

To any vendors reading this, as soon as you get one, send me a PM and I'll order immediately!!!!

Those are great looking pieces.

I'll be in the market for a rear bumper (non-carrier) soon.

Oh man I thought I was going to avoid bumper mods because they're either heavy steel or just too short like the XHD.

The bumpers you posted are puuuuuurrrfect.

No. The regular EXP1 bumpers are an arm and a leg. The aluminum ones are an arm, a leg, and your firstborn.

I know it's going to cost a lot, but I just want a bumper that fits my criteria, and since they are the only company making what I want, I will get it. Im also planning on buying the bumper once. In 6 months, I'll forget that I spent an extra $500 on a bumper, but I won't forget it if the bumper is a pain to use, causes me to spend an extra $30 a week on gas from being 200lbs, etc.

Huh?

JcrOffroad, Inc.: JK Crusader

I dont see any aluminum bumpers, I don't see any full width bumpers, nor do I see one with a carrier for $525 shipped. Am I missing something?

I don't see the need for a steel rear bumper. Front sure, but not rear. Just lugging around dead weight.

The front bumper sure is sexy!

Do aluminum front bumpers not hold up?

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that you don't wheel hard much? Rear bumpers can be subject to a lot of abuse.

I wheel a decent amount (not rockcrawling though) but aluminum is plenty strong against knocks....snags might be a different story. Look at the Nemesis industries videos of their skids....they took a pounding at Moab with no damage. So long as the bumper is made well, the material is the correct thickness in the correct places, it can be extremely strong.

I don't know about Nemesis but I have a friend who is running GenRight and they are prone to damage when smacked real hard from dropping off tall ledges and landing on them.

But then again not everyone puts there self in a position to where they will be dropping half the weight of there jeep on there bumper.

But ,but I have know 4 people who have ran aluminum bumpers and two regret doing it. Two of them push there jeeps hard and two of them won't do anything that might get them a scratch or dent. Its easy to guess which ones regrets there choise.

Personally my jeep will never have another piece of aluminum armor on it again after I replace my skid system. Thats just me though.

Why does Blaine and savvy and others push so hard for aluminum belly skids then?

I went the aluminum skid rought and it didn't work out. They are not much more then scrap metal hanging off the botom of my jeep after a year of wheeling.

That's disappointing. What thickness did you go with? Not worth the extra price then huh?

Also curious. Aluminum skids are getting very popular. I like Gen rights flat belly system.

I don't remember the thickness. It is the RiverRaider system. Keep in mind I tend to drive like an idiot and have a case of dontgiveafuckides sometimes.

Aluminum is a really good option for lots of folks, but if you beat on your junk like it is sponsored it won't hold up to it.

I can't wait to get this bumper too! Exp One told me it could be released as early as mid April (right now) but I'm not holding my breath because that would be too good to be true. It would be nice if they released it before the end of May though

Thanks bud! I thought I'd get it mid April, but it seems like they are not coming out until summertime. Oh well, off to Moab without it I go.
