I sold my 2008 JKUS last week so I could get a Rubi.

I have located 2 that i want, both white

1. 2014 with 32K on it. 3.73, Nav, Auto A/C, cloth, premuim sound, connectivity
2. 2015 with 42K on it. 4.11, leather, premium sound, connectivity

I am leaning towards the 2014 since is has the cloth, nav and auto a/c.

the only thing I want in the 2015 is the 4.11

By default, the jeep wrangler site shows that when one builds & price the Rubicon, by making an adjustment to allow for the automatic trans, the gears actually downgrades to the 3.73 ratio. However, After adjusting for the automatic trans, one can regear to the 4.10 within the build and price system and go from there.

In this case, it would be easier for you to purchase the lesser gear 2014 jeep with the options you want and just have it re-gear to the 4.10 thereafter.

If you plan to get bigger tires, maybe in the 33" range, then you might want 4.10. If you plan to go to 35 or higher, you'll probably be best suited with more than 4.10, meaning the 2014, 35" tiers and a custom regear is probably a better option.

Much of a price difference between the two?

Climate control or auto AC isn't really all that great of a feature. I've found myself using manual setting on occasion at start up, depending on conditions.

Factory Nav also isn't that great. I find myself using my phone more and more.

Leather is potentially great. So far easy to clean, feels and looks more rugged. And if it ages anything like I hope, old worn leather beats out old worn cloth any day. Especially in a jeep.

Also - the 4.10 gears are great - for stock tires. If your going to go up much in tire size, your probably going to want to regear anyway.

Nothing yet, still negotiating.

I will be doing 35's, and I am aware that the 3.73's aren't the best for 35's. The lower miles and other features are better than going for the gears. Let's be honest if I really start going crazy, I will regear any way

I would want the 4.10 gears.

Premium sound in the 2015 will be much better than the premium sound in the 2014.

I would go for the 2015 and recover the seats or use seat covers if I didn't like the leather.

I prefer cloth in Jeeps, since the Jeep will be naked all the time. Leather gets really hot in GA.

I am one of the few people that love Auto A/C, and for the Jeep it will really be more like Auto heat. that feature will be used in the winter more than the summer.

Question for everyone. Someone in the for sale adds is selling 4.10 gears.

Can I just swap the 3.73's out and replace with the 4.10? or is there more to it?

it costs a lot to install. ranging from 600+. I got my gears for 300, and install for 600otd. pricing will be based on location/shop. Might as well upgrade to lower gearing.

Gear install isn't a basic wrench monkey task. Best done by someone who had experience.

I'd argue that leather seats with cheap seat covers will hold up better (especially if you're running naked) than cloth seats.

4.10's are great with stock tires. But with 35's you'll likely want 4.56 or 4.88's - don't be sold on the factory 4.10's.

If your running naked a lot, even less reason for climate control.

I'd go for the fifteen myself. Updated oil cooler housing that doesn't crack like the 14s. Doesn't have the nav which is a good thing (it sucks). Has 4.10s (YES). Has leather (it's nice trust me). Only thing you're missing out on is the auto temp. Which is nice but benefits outweigh the negatives here

Analysis Paralysis got the best of me. The dealership with the 2014 won't move on price, and I haven't called on the 2015 yet.

To throw a wrench in the whole thing, I found out this morning I can get a control number for employee pricing. I am currently trying to see if I can fit a new Rubi in my budget.

If not you can prolly fit your budget to a Willys and be really happy!

Well, I blew the budget and bought a 2017 Rubicon. I got a great deal on it, it didn't make sense to buy used. It is pretty base for a $42K Jeep, but I will be upgrading some things as we go. I probably would have done that anyway, so no loss there. The one thing I really wanted that I didn't get was auto A/C (heat), so I am going to be looking at upgrading that by December.
Since I blew the budget, lifting it and 35's will have to wait a while. My wife is really awesome, but she has her limits.

It has 4.10 gears, Connectivity group, and Hard top.

WOW, nice discount! I see used ones listed in my area with the same equipment for more $$. I think I may have to go this route too, I really want a Rubi as well, and the used prices are so high. If I can wrangle a discount like this, I'll prob go for it.

How did you get them to go so low? Or were they just trying to get rid of it?
