Finished My First Couple of Mods

So I've had my '11 JKU for a little less than 2 months now and I finished my first couple of mods about a week ago. First I installed the Rugged Ridge XHD bumper on with grill guard, and I bed lined my grill. I also installed my tail lamp guards, removed the sport stickers and put on some JK ones. Thank you everyone who have unknowingly helped me with your advice in all the threads that I've read.

Installing the bumper was no real issue at all, either was bed lining the grill. The only problem I had doing so was due to using dupicolor bed liner. I do not recommend it. I used just about 2 cans of before sanding it and respraying it Rustolem Bed liner. That is the stuff to use.

Mods I hope to get done within the next few months include getting stubby end caps for my bumper, 33' mud terrain tires, spider web top (may wait a while since the seasons are changing), home made mesh grill inserts, leveling lift or 2.5 lift and who knows what. Let me know what you guys think.

Yea that's exactly what i'm thinking.... Ill probably can not afford a lift until next summer, so I'll probably upgrade my tires when I do my lift. Ill also want to get the rubicon rock sliders because I read somewhere they will fit with the ACE rock sliders as well.

Very nice I like the D-rings did they come with the bumper, they look like it. I've replaced my rear bumper and on Tuesday or Wednesday I will replace the front, then a 4" lift. Very nice bumper and grill...

Yea the D rings came with the bumper. They are what you actually use to mount the bumper to the frame. The four bolts you see bolt right on it.

Dogface- Just used 80 grit sandpaper and gave it a good scratch. Then smoothed with a 220 sandpaper, followed by a rinse and then used a wax remover before I started spraying. Not much trouble just be careful when sanding because I took it down too far in one area but was able to fill it with the bed liner.

Thanks. I was scared about doing it, so much I bought another grill on ebay just in case I didn't like the results. It really pops with the silver, highly recommend.

Don't want to hijack the thread but I saw a few comments on how nice the grill looks and I agree, it really makes the jeep pop! If any of y'all are wondering what your grill would look like painted that way let me know and I'll photo shop a picture of your jeep. I've already done several in the picture forum.

Have you thought about doing the fenders too or could that be photoshopped? I'd love to see the fenders match the look of your grill. Looks good regardless.
