First Gecko?

Last night I pulled out the old VHS collection and stumbled on an old '97 Rick Russel video of 4 wheeling at Chokecherry Canyon near Farmington, NM. It's an hour of various type 4x4s on some of the tougher sections at Farmington that I remember from years back. I suppose all those trails are still there, but I digress...

Harold Off owned one of the local 4x4 shops in Farmington, and a couple of his Jeeps were featured in this video. His Scrambler was something to see on the trail, and the Fugowies of Mile-Hi Jeep Club got the opportunity to follow him through some of the Chokecherry Canyon area for a day... again I digress.

Obviously, this video cranked out the memories for me, but what I completely forgot until I watched the vid again was Harold's green Wrangler. Now you Gecko colored Jeepers would know right off if it is the same color, but it got me to wondering if Harold's YJ was the color inspiration?

Sorry for the horrible photo, but it's a picture of my TV... I'm video technically challenged...

Definitely not the same shade. I like Gecko more. That's more of a neon green. (No that Gecko isn't neon lol)

There have been many before this one painted limelight green. That color has been around since the 60s. Friend of mine had a 81 CJ7 painted limelight green in the late 80s.
