First Jeep

Purchased an 08 Rubicon Unlimited today with 37,000 miles. paid 23,000 otd. Its an auto with tow group, nav, infinity sound system, chrome tube bumpers, chrome Jeep tube steps, Hard top and soft top. New to the Jeep world, I'm wondering which direction to go first for upgrades. I do plan to go offroad but nothing extreme. Leaning towards 35's but I have no idea what lift to get, any suggestions would be appreciated. Where is the best place to see JK unlimiteds already set up so I can get some ideas?

Welcome aboard.

First step is to ditch the tube bumpers and steps; they hinder rather than enhance the offroading.
Stout bumpers with solid recovery points are needed as well as rocker protection that doesn't reduce ground clearance.

First off - HooYah!! Good purchase.

Now, get that chrome junk off. Chrome on a Rubicon is probably a misdemeanor in at least 20 states, possibly a felony in Utah.

Seriously, enjoy your new wheels. And as to what Hilldweller said - "Right on, right on, right on"

I have steps, btw; I'm so ashamed...
But my wife is pretty short and they came stock.

But they're not chrome.
See how nicely they help keep road spray off the side of the Jeep? Well worth it...

Thanks all for the advice, I'm going to go with the XHD bumper system and put the other bumpers on craigslist. I have been looking for 6 or 7 months now, even flew to tampa but there was nothing with this many options under 26 up until this one. I'm thinking a 3" lift but i don't know if thats too subtle and I don't want 35's to rub at full articulation... should I go more?
