First Jeep Needs Tires

I just bought my first Jeep a 2007 Sahara 4 Door. The tires are original (P255 70R 18 Bridgestones with 36K Miles) and are close to replacement time. I know the tread options with 18 inch rims are limited but I did find a nice set of Cooper (Under the Mastercraft name) tires that are 275 65R 18 that have a nice aggresive tread. I have used this tread before on my 2500 Ram 4X4 and they worked great in the mud and snow without to much extra noise on the road. Will this size cause me any problems. Not ready to shell out $$$$ for to do a lift or rims yet.

32.3" Tall/ 10.9" wide Requires 7.5" to 9" wide rim

Best advice- rubi take offs, cheap and I see them on here and Craigslist all the time.

$700-$800 for a set of 5, sell the 18's to recoup some of the $$$.

I may just order 2 Rim/Tires at a time until I have all 5 (as money permits)

I am in the same boat as you kenb

You can find "takeoffs" on CL for $400 - $600/set 4. People are always upgrading wheels. Make sure you ask if the TPMS sensors were removed, if not, they should already be factory balanced and ready to put on. You end up with new straight wheels and fresh rubber for about 1/2 the price.

I've got about 2k on my replacement tires on stock rims.

Kelly TRS (?) 275R65/18 working perfect. Had to adjust 'bump stops' about 1/4" for absolutely no rub.
I've had 'em in the dirt a few times now. I'm a little disappointed....haven't even needed 4x4 on a couple of slippery little pitches.

Will get to more demanding trails in a couple of weeks.

I'm in the minority, I like the stock 18" rims.
