First mod to the jeep....

That's right I finally made the first step and ordered new tires for my 2007 JK as stock goodyears SRA's are getting pretty bare.

Called up my tire company CNC tire in massillon Ohio and they are ordering some new goodyear durra tracs for me. Decided to go same size as the ones on there as I don't plan on doing much offroading. I could have gone with an off brand for half the money but I liked the reviews and I know several people with the durra tracs that are happy.

How about trying a milk jug stash box for your first mod?

yeah yeah, I know...laugh at me some more.

[brings out the soapbox]
Point is this is going to be a part of my daily driver this is changing. After all a modification is something that is being changed to something different?

Yes there a re a lot of modifications I would love to be able to do to the jeep today but am unable to due to the tough economic times. Maybe after I hit the lottery or get a better job or a raise I will be able to spend much more money on my jeep like the rest of you.

For now I'll take it one piece at a time and hopefully someday it will be passed down through generation to generation just like the 48 willy's that is still in the family to this day.

When I bought my jeep I went in search of a friendly place where one can gain a lot of great ideas, tips, tricks etc. and I found this site. A wonderful place to be compared to the vast majority of the ones that are out there. For some reason I didn't think this would be a place where people would be made to feel like an idiot because they posted something they were excited about.

Sorry for the rant. just a little dissapointed. But nothing a drive i my crappy stock jeep won't fix because I still like it and can see the potential jeep that it can become someday.

[steps off of soapbox and turns light out]

its okay, they are just razzin you. new tires are a MOD, they just didnt think replacing the stock tires with not so stock tires was much of one. my first MOD to my jeep was buying a set of used rubicon wheels and tires... though they are a stock swap i still call it a mod because its a modification to my vehicle.

some people like the jeep stock, and that is PERFECTLY fine. you dont have to spend 80K on a JK rockcrawler to love a jeep!
