My recollection for the 2011 was that it only added something like $700 over an identically equipped Rubicon. That cost went to the all the appointments that originally came on the Mountain Edition--hood decal, grey wheels, tail light guards, gas cap cover, etc. Debatable if the lipstick was worth it, just like on my Mountain Edition.

That said, the 2012 COD is expected to be--and if this is it, clearly is--quite different. It comes with an AEV heat reduction hood, fancy aftermarket Mopar bumpers, a factory installed lift, bigger tires, different wheels, etc. etc. etc. This time around, it's not just a Rubicon with some decals and doodads, but, rather, a straight up heavily "modded" Rubicon.

Looks great, though I've got to think it's going to add a ton to the cost. A lot more than $700.

I doubt very much that is the 2012 COD. That's the Jeep that's been at several shows for a while including SEMA. You can see the Pork Chop Jeep in the back ground.

That looks to be an AEV built version of a Call of Duty. It would be way more expensive than the 2011 was.

I'll be honest, I think that picture is BULL!. There is no way Chrysler is going to push that off the factory line.I don't believe the OP here at all.

I'm not fooled, lol (I could be wrong, LOL)

Well if this is a factory upgrade option, I'm willing to bet it will add about 5K to the price.

Looks damn good, and if anyone read the article on Pork Chop..the 3.8L with the weight reduction worked very well..I forget the quote, but of all the Wranglers they've tested..Pork Chop would be the one sitting in their garage.

I love that AEV bumper and water tank feature, but i can just imagine while downing some beers with fellow jeepers one just may find it funny to relieve himself inside that thing...and there's no drain plug.

Looks nice can't imagination that all of that is going to be built into it for the final build though for the COD. I looked into the configurator for a build and wasn't able to see a COD as a valid option for an order on a Rubicon Unlimited as of yet.

We had a 2011 here for awhile and I finally just got rid of it today to a Marine...

More like $10k-$15k...

Depending on the lift used, it's almost $13,000 retail of stuff on it... about $15,000 if you used the MOPAR part #s.

WARN 9.5cti
WARN Hawse Fairlead
WARN Synthetic Rope
IPF Lights
AEV Hood
AEV Front Bumper
AEV Skidplate
AEV Rear Bumper & Tire Carrier
AEV Rear Corner Guards
AEV Savegre Wheels
Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC Tires
MOPAR Rock Rails

Unsure on the Green D-ring Shackles and Suspension. Likely a AEV 3.5" Lift.

Chrysler also likes to add the MOPAR Slush Mats

IMHO, no way, no how ... Snatch the lift, tires, winch, and driving lights and maybe...

I could see an un-vented AEV "power-bulge" hood like has been seen in some other spy pics and maybe the front bumper, and upgraded Mopar rock sliders. Maybe even a set of black Savegre wheels (though, I doubt it) ... Painted Moabs, anyone?

But, in my "expert, armchair, forum opinion", there's no way Jeep is bringing a 35" clad, lifted Rubicon with front and rear AEV bumpers and heat-reduction hood from the factory to market. Seriously, the front driveshaft already hits the exhaust on lifted 2012s and the weak front axle housing still remains ... Maybe they'll drop some ProRock 44s from the factory, too.

I seen a similar lifted wrangler at my local Jeep dealer. it was all AEV
just like that one w/ a hemi and snorkle.. I am pretty sure it was at or around $60K

Since they are now AEV authorized, they are going occasionally take new wranglers and add AEV packages to them as new.. but its not cheap...

Every time I see "MW Jeep" I keep dreaming of a Mechwarrior Jeep. Way cooler in my mind.

Jeep® Introduces New 2012 Wrangler Call of Duty®: MW3 Special Edition

New Special-edition 2012 Wrangler featured in Activision Publishing’s most anticipated “Call of Duty®” game as Jeep® Brand and Activision

  • New 2012 Jeep® Wrangler Call of Duty®: MW3 Special Edition to arrive in Jeep dealerships in November
  • 2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition comes standard with aggressive 32-inch tires, Mopar® exterior accessories, unique interior treatments, and Call of Duty graphics
  • All 2012 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited models feature a new 3.6-liter V-6 engine with 285 horsepower that delivers up to 21 miles per gallon on the highway

September 1, 2011 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The Jeep® brand and Activision Publishing, Inc. today announced that Jeep has been named exclusive automotive partner of Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare 3®, the year’s most anticipated entertainment launch, which will be released on November 8. This marks a second chapter in a joint promotion that Jeep and Activision began last year.

As part of these efforts, Jeep also announced that it will produce the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition. Available in Jeep showrooms this November, the new limited-edition Jeep Wrangler will be available in both two-door and four-door (Jeep Wrangler Unlimited) models.

"The Jeep brand’s partnership with Activision allows us to combine our new, more powerful, more exciting and more fuel-efficient Jeep Wrangler with the latest version of one of the most popular gaming experiences in the world,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "This opportunity enables us to demonstrate Jeep Wrangler’s unique combination of fun, capability and performance to a broad and growing group of consumers.”

The presence of a Jeep Wrangler in the game is a natural fit, including an in-game integration into the epic single-player storyline of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,” a Spec-Ops level and the title’s much anticipated multiplayer experience.

“We are very excited to extend our partnership with Jeep, which not only marries two of the world’s most iconic brands – Jeep Wrangler and Call of Duty – but also creates a number of unique consumer touch points,” said Tim Ellis, Chief Marketing Officer for Activision. “The Jeep Wrangler perfectly embodies the authenticity and dynamic energy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and our teams have worked hard to create an integrated partnership that enhances both brands.”

2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition

The 2012 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition is based on the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon model and features Rubicon wheels finished in semi-gloss black. Available in Black or Bright Silver, the exterior features “Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition” graphics on the front fenders and spare tire cover.

The vehicle also features a unique “power-dome” hood, along with such Mopar® accessories as a winch-ready front bumper, rear bumper, rock rails, taillamp guards and a fuel-filler door. Inspired by the most recent version of Activision’s popular “Call of Duty” games, the new limited-edition Wrangler delivers legendary Jeep capability, aggressive 32-inch off-road tires, live axles with locking differentials in the front and rear, and a two-speed transfer case.

Available dealer-installed Mopar performance parts include a Warn winch, 2-inch lift kit and classic five-spoke wheels.

Interior appointments include model-specific black seats with accent stitching and Call of Duty logos, unique gauge cluster graphics, dashboard serialized plaque, dashboard grab handle with logo, accent stitching on arm rest, console lid, and steering wheel, Mopar Slush Mats with logo, and rear cargo mat with logo (Unlimited only).
