Took my first road trip in my new JKU this past weekend. Went to Tennessee, was about 550 miles each way. My gas mileage was between 21 and 22 mpg on the trip there. Total mpg for the whole trip was only 19. Little worse than expected but I am alright with that. Was going anywhere between 70 to 80 mph most of the way. I know its not the sweet spot for mpg but you can only do so much when the speed limit is 70 the whole way.
I used to drive a 2004 Murano before this and it averaged about 24 mpg on the same trip but used premium gas. So, I think I will take the wrangler over that any day. Less mpg plus cheaper gas in the Jeep kinda equal out I guess.
Love my new Jeep.

I'm not a fan of going over 70 in my Jeep if I don't have to, but you're right, it's hard when there are areas of highway where the speed limit is 70/75, and other drivers are flying past at 75+. I stick to the right lane; they can go around.
