I avoided hardcore highway traffic by taking the first exit and driving to all the possible areas with the heaviest deepest snow just for fun, how addicted am I ?

First I tried staying in 2WD, but forget it I was loosing tail control on turns and slippery areas, shifted in 4WD and my jeep was in total traction control. I've never seen anything like that before, it was like my tires had road magnets, my winter tires probably helped but I must say that I had a total blast.

Yeah, all the time.

Does just dandy. Don't fret about not having lockers, you can still easily have fun without them.

That's what I figured. It's a Jeep, how bad can it really be? Might add lockers some day in the distant future . . . pretty far down the mod list.

I tried putting the ESp on and off but I wasn't sure what difference it made ... I read the owner's manual but the description does not help me. Anyone can clarify the ESP option in 4WD in snow ?

thanks

Got my jeep in may too. I was enjoying the top off doors off season until late september where I had to put my hardtop back on and then made some research for winter tires which I got late november, I couldn't wait until it snowed hardcore and it finally came, it's worth the wait.

Enjoy

I'm jealous! I got my studded snows and had to go up a ski slope that they were making snow at to have some fun in the white stuff. She performed fantastic.

BTW I have the lockers and have not used them in snow yet in two winters. Only off road so far. Doesn't mean I won't experiment but I haven't seen any use for them yet in snow. While I was on the mountain going up or down I had it in 4 high going up and went down a more vertical path and put it into 4 low so I could use the engine to keep speed under control and not ride the brake. That was fun. The jeep handled it like a spider on a wall.

I have the same tires you have but in LT265 70 17 and unstuded, I posted on your thread.

They're awesome but I have nothing to compare them to, 4WD makes a significant difference but I'm positive the tires play an important role as well. Those are the most aggressive tread winter dedicated tires I found on the market in my area and I am happy with the performance

Ya, I read your post over there. When I went to Town Fair Tire, I asked them for an aggressive tread tire. I was taking off my muds and wanted something comparable with studs. When they showed me those, I was fairly impressed with the tread. They were quit a bit cheaper than the place across town that quoted me the same price as Town Fair but that was their base price, without any fees for all of the extras for a not as aggressive tire. I can't wait to see how they handle on the road in snow and ice. From what you have been saying, I'm becoming pretty satisfied that I made a good purchase. When you spend over a grand for a set of wheels and tires you get gitters about whether or not the decision is a good one. After all, unless something really bad happens to them, the purchase will be with you for a very long time. Thanks for the vote of confidence in these tires.
