I had a 03 gmc sonoma I wanted to trade it in o a dodge caliber but my wife got a jeep compass instead. I got her 05 ford taurus to drive for the next 3 years. Th tranny in the taurus went kablewy last may and we traded it in on my wranger. And I love my wrangler and glad I didn't get the caliber.

A 2008 BMW 128I. The thing cornered and didn't need 5th gear till over 100mph...Problem was I was afraid to even go over speed bumps or drive into a puddle of water.
My first week with the Rubicon I did 40 miles of muddy snowy trails in the Mountains...Love my Jeep

'01 Olds Alero, 125K miles, mom-mobile extraordinaire, leaky aluminum rims, absolutely worthless on anything other than dry pavement.

Before that, I had a '90 Ford Bronco II. Quirky, short, high wheelbase, chewed through snow like nobody's business. It's actually what inspired me to get the JK.

2001 Nissan Xterra, purchased new. 99% pavement driving. A few nights of drunken driving that led me into the neighbors lawn. (just kidding)

2005 Nissan Titan, purchased new. Loved the interior room. I'm 6'5" and 260ish ... had lots of room to spare.

Honestly, I saw a late model Wrangler Unlimited with no doors, no top or windshield and I was like WTH is that?! I researched and became intrigued but could not find anything on the Jeep website that really looked like it. I sort of let it go...

When my battery failed over the summer my wife was like "well I guess it *is* 5+ years old ... probably time for a new car?" When I stopped laughing over that notion, I thought of the Jeep I saw. After doing a little more research I realized it was a Wrangler Unlimited that I saw and started researching. Being a video game nut (and not much of an off-roader) I had sold myself on the Black Ops version!

When it was time to get serious around Thanksgiving, I visited my dealership and they had a Black Ops edition on the lot. WHAT - no leather?? How was I to wash the gunpowder and blood from those cloth seats?? COuld not believe that leather was not an option on that vehicle. Having three kids I need the leather. (that is my story and I am sticking to it) So anyway had to pass on the Black Ops edition and to cut to the chase, I settled on my new ride. I promised my eldest kid/son a ride in the new Jeep as soon as I got it home ... I could not resist the urge to drive around my house in the empty lots. We live in a new development and we're the only house on the street. After muddying up my street I quickly realized the importance of not $#!++!ng where I sleep and I will never track mud all over my streets again. (I will go to the development across the street for that. This is the results - fresh off the lot and muddy in under 2 hours.

2004 Nissan Quest Van. Sure wish I could have swapped the motor from it into our JK... but you can't beat the "fun factor" of the Jeep.

I traded in a 2006 Ford F150 4X4 Super Cab and bought my 2010 Sahara.

My last trail worthy vehicle was a 1971 International Scout 800b.

I must say, it is a whole lot more fun to spend my money on upgrades and addon's for my JK than it was to spend my money on parts to keep that damn scout running.

I wish I still had it. LOL

My first and only vehicle before the Tj I got a few days ago is my 2000 Chev S10, never had a problem with it is the 3 years I've had it, never even crossed my mind of buying a Jeep, been looking for a half ton but then the deal came and I got the Tj and so far I love it, I can see her becoming a very pricy addiction
