First time offroad - Video!

My first time on the trails and mannnn it was fun. Its amazing how a stock 4x4 JK can keep up with the others.
My first stuck was my last stuck.

At around 3:35 when he says nice bumper, its because I caved it in and we popped it back out, with not even a scuff to prove it.

And that was with all terrain tires? That looked fun..
I took an 07 sahara on level 3 trails and it hung with the big jeeps.. Awesome vehicles.

I finally had time to take mine offroad for the first time last weekend. I agree with you, mine handled great too. It was muddy and I did not loose any traction or slip once. It was like driving on a paved surface. I have stock set up with Duratrac tires.

Great video! Really nicely done. Some good AT or MT tires would have done wonders for your JK.

Everybody cuts on the plastic bumpers, until you can pop them back out like that without a scratch.

yea this was with the stock AT tires. I also heard that the JKs sit higher stock then any other wrangler model. You can see that in the video.

Those are not AT tires. Your JK has 255/75/17 Wrangler SR-A street tires on it.

Even more remarkable that they keep up with the rest of the group.

Actually the sra is rated as an on/off road tire, not a street tire!

The SRA's are a great tire and I wheel the SHi tt out of them and they go thrugh mud and clay like an AT with no issue at all. Air them babies down to about 18 psi and send them. I'm gonna run mine for a bit yet as I havent had a problem with them yet. I have had people stunned that those "street tires made it up that gulch" There pretty mean.

But it is not an AT tire. It may be rated to drive on or off road but you know how much ratings mean. I wheeled my SR-As for a long time so I'm very confident in what they can and can't do. Also, what they do and how they respond to different terrains. The main problem with them is how heavy they slip when you need traction and this comes down to a control issue when you need it. Another problem is they have zero sidewall protection or grab for crawling. There have no teeth and their small treads are not even close to the smallest tread depth of the least expensive real AT tire.

I agree that you can wheel them to no end. I certainly did and the OP was doing a great job with them.
